This team makes far too many unfortunately. And always in big games. Each of the CB that played today have issues with brain farts. Mustafi got absolutely rinsed, awful timing with his tackles. Kolasinac’s mistake isn’t acceptable at PL level. This type of mistake doesn’t happen if the player is of any quality. Luiz has already had far too many mistakes in big games this season. Bellerin wasn’t great either, and as much as I want him to go, we can’t let all of them go.
This has been happening since 10+ years. It’s nothing new. The quality of players aren’t good enough. However it’s just becoming more and more of an issue. Arteta will have worked all week to set his team up, only for a defender to gift the opposition a golden chance. What’s the point?
There are issues elsewhere, but until certain individuals are replaced, then no matter how many good players you have in other positions, you’ll still be let down.
Also as a side note, as far as mid table battles go, this had to be one of the more entertaining ones.

Castor saying we need to sort out our midfield. Not good enough.
I say as long as we doing these brainfarts at tour back and sort them out we can have a world class midfield and a world class strike force.
When do we begin to sort out our defense?
Since we restarted the League we lost 3 games and drew one. All points lost because we cant defend.

Was telling my Arsenal supporting mate what a great lower table clash this was.
Takes some doing losing to this Spurs side all you had to do is show some fight and we would have crumbled.

Mustafi was awful today, our worst player, ironically though his errors didn’t lead to the goals. Did Luiz do much wrong today?
I agree until the quality of our defenders improves we aren’t going to do very much... Arteta knows this though and he should be given some slack until he’s had a chance to rectify it. We have Mari and Saliba next year, who, with a bit of luck, could be some of the answers to fixing our terrible defence

100% DUMBASS move by Arteta to ever think that Kol, Mustafi and Luiz would ever be able to cope with Son, Kane and Lucas for 90 mins. And with Bellerin not AMN at that. We're lucky we never got seriously battered.
Worse still is that after the brain fart it was quickly obvious the defenders weren't going to recover their composure (which they never had much of to begin with). But he pigheadedly failed to correct his initial mistake and switch to 4 at the back. This ain't Man City so why he tried to set them up as though it is I don't know. Not even that mad at the players. The boss well and truly stitched them up today.

Been useless at set pieces for a good 15 years. Goes hand in hand with the crappy defenders really.
