a bit this week, following the victory against Arsenal. Jose was like a dead man walking, and even though he's had hardly 6 months coaching the team, yet he was vilified. (Don't count the 3 months lockdown?)
And yet this team has the track record of being the second team with most wins coming back from losing position?
Last season, Spurs were ranked 7th in comeback kings.
Surely that's beginning to show that mental strength that the team was missing?
That's what made Spurs a top side in 2015/16 season. That season, Spurs were top of the comeback kings leagues
The reason I am looking at this comeback stuff, because it shows the mental strength at the team. Not collapse if we conceded a goal.
Against Arsenal, the team just got down and got back to level terms. Admittedly Arsenal helped
Anyway - signs are showing some progress.
For tonight, I'd like the same lineup as per NLD
But Japhet Tangana instead of Aurier please. Oh, and the same formation.
4-4-1-1
Lloris
Tanganga Sanchez Toby Davies
Lo Celso Sissoko Winks Moura
Son
Kane
So glad fans have eased off

I would love us to go after JWP & Holberg from Southampton. I think JWP is great young player, far more positive than winks and has fantastic dead ball delivery. Holberg is exactly what we need to shield the back 4. I think its a great balance that would allow GLC and/ or Dele to fight for then number 10 spot while making Winks & Sissoko squad players. I don't think either would break the bank

Is He ? Looks like a kid...... Good genes.... still a good player
Would happily get those 2 if them keeping KWP helped..... Would happily throw Winks into the deal too

And Southampton wouldnt sell JWP. He is great at set pieces tbf and very good for Saints. However not what we need as priority whereas a Hojbjerg type is more welcome for us.
we need an AM and a good set piece taker for sure but thats about 5th or 6th priority right now and we have fat chance of signing that many players.

I agree... but lets no kid ourselves, neither Winks are Sissoko are good enough.... Neither should be starting. Our distribution from CM is painful.... Its part of the reason Moura, Sonny etc are so inconsistent, its because the build up play is so slow. Doubt NDombele will be at Spurs next year & I still cant figure out if GLC is a number 10 or a CM
But lets not kid ourselves.... Winks and Sissoko are as bad a piar of CMs as Aurier & Davies are a pair of shlt FBs

Yeh Winks and Sissoko are painful as a midfield pairing. Sissoko does at least run about, not actually sure what Winks does, other than pass the ball backwards a few yards. Both need upgrading.

I think Winks would be better in a midfield 3, much like a lot of Spurs' midfield options. Play him box-to-box instead of as a defensive shield and I think he'd show a lot more of his press-beating ability, as well as more progressive passing.

So here's what line-up we could see next season:
LLoris
Youcef Atal , Sanchez , Toby, Jamal Lewis
Sissoko, Ndombele, Kongdogbia, Lo Celso
Son
Kane
Not a radical change, but I believe an effective one
Not a Bank busting transfers, but that would refresh the side which is needed!

Kondogbia would be expensive. Good player, mind you, but he's more box-to-box, not a proper DM, and I don't think a midfield 2 with Ndombele would offer much cover.
Have there been any concrete links with Atal?
