Do we really want a winner at the club

or do we want all those really nice guys like Martin Jol, Harry, Poch, who between them did not win a bean.

The only two trophies Spurs have won in the last 30 years are by two managers that no supporter particularly liked, Graham and Ramos, but they were winners, not only at Spurs but at other clubs. Jose is of the same mould, not particularly liked, but he has one of the best CVs ever in world club football.

Do we really want nice guys, that cry when we win a game, but never win a bean, or do we want a manager who knows how to win. The mentality at the club has to change, No more being nice, and winning nothing.

Apparently only Liverpool and City have won more Prem games since Jose took over, so he is going in the right direction at least. Putting his mark down ready for a full on assault next season.

I was brought up on a diet at Spurs of them not being that consistent in the league, but a top, top cup team, they used to win semi-finals and finals by the bucketload. They won seven FA Cup semi-finals in a row back in the day. Now the club are sitting on a run of eight successive FA Cup semi-final losses. That nonsense has to stop. I don`t care anymore about style, that comes with winning anyway.

Jose hopefully will bring some cup success over the next three or four seasons. Supporters need to get behind him, and stop with the nonsense over the last manager, he is gone, and he aint coming back.

I want a team at NWHL that can and will win the Champions League.
The Premiership would be a consolation prize.
The other tin pots are for the birds.

So when in your lifetime has any Spurs team won a CL, Ted. What makes it so imperative now?

Start with lesser competitions and work up, that is the way it usually works.

Almost a couple of years ago, but ...never.
Start small and work up?
Last time that happened was 1950/51!!!!
Spurs won the Second Division and then the First Division in successive years
When have you seen any team do that since....Sandy?
(Hint.....only once )
I don't think "start small" and work up will work in this environment....not like it did in 1950/51!

Today you must "build to win"
And with Lewis & Levy in charge ...........
how likely is that??

And to think we used to laugh at Arsenal for their constant “top 4 trophy”.....until they won 3 fa cups.
They say you become what you hate the most.
Breaks my heart to see so many fans want a top 4 finish over trophies.
I sincerely hope if we get to the Europa that Jose takes it very seriously and goes to win the thing, even at the expense of league form

No I don’t think that’s how it works.

What do you suggest? Let’s only go for the fa cup and league cup and until we win those only then should we try and compete for the CL and league?

Yes 3 FA cups in 4 years and they still shoved Wenger out the door.

Goes to show that winning the FA cup means not a lot towards any progress as a club.

How about we act like a big club for once mate ? Go for trophies, then the league form will happen and improve. I’m sure Chelsea don’t think, we’ll let’s try and get top 4 first, then we can think about trophies. They go out and try to win every trophy possible, hence why they are so successful. Time for Spurs and our fans to stop acting like ultimate losers. Get rid of this horrendous bottling tag we carry around.

I think we do try and win trophies. Much lesser teams have won the fa cup and league cup more recently than us. We just bottle it every time we get close.

I just think it’s stupid for people to say we should just worry about cups and forget the league.

We have a serial winner in charge now, so hopefully the bottling tag will vanish over the next three seasons.

No reason why it has to be one or the other. Big clubs challenge on more than one front. For to long finishing top four has been prioritised over top four. City, Chelsea and United all give domestic cups their utmost respect. Even Arsenal do, another semi-final for them today. Jose was unfortunately hampered by injuries during the cup run this season, hopefully better next season.
