Chances are we're going to be fighting out against each other on the last day of the season for a Champions League spot - most permutations of results have it this way. But there is a distinctly non-zero chance of us both finding ourselves in a bit of a quandary...
If Leicester beat Spurs away,
Man Utd beat West Ham at home
and Chelsea lose at Anfield,
Then we end up with a situation where a draw would be enough to take us both through to the CL, excepting something like a 20-goal turnover for Chelsea against Wolves. (i.e. wouldn't happen)
My question is: If Man Utd found themselves in that scenario, do you think they would deliberately play out a draw? Particularly if they were 4th on goal difference - would practicality or pride win the day? Would the attitude be: This gets us both a CL place, let's both see it through? Or would it be: We're not playing this silly game; we're a proud club and have a chance of scoring more points and climbing another spot in the table.

Florida - Clive Clarke. Poor sod. Although it could also be argued as fortunate that it happened in a place where there were loads of medical professionals and a defib on hand.

Remember the famous "Sweden 2 - 2 Denmark = The Spaghettis are out? It was at the euros of 2004 in the last group game between Sweden and Denmark who are at the same group with Italy and 2-2 scores needed then to qualify the two nations and also send Italy out in the group stage. My God it ended 2-2 and they hail it as a "Nordic victory" which stunned Italy

There is a scenario where if;
We lose to Spurs 1-0
Man Utd beat West Ham 5-1
We beat Man Utd 1-0
And Chelsea win one of their two games
Then there's a play off between Leicester and Man Utd as all parameters are equal

Wouldn't they just give it to Utd for penalties won?

I suppose, seeing as it's the last game of the season why couldn't we just have a peno shootout at the end. Might as well hey

As far as I understand if points, goal difference, goals for and goals against are equal, it goes on head to head, which, in the scenario above would also be equal. Then the place is tied. A european qualification at stake, would require a play-off.
Highly unlikely I know, but it's come that close...
