Winning trophies > Top 4

I'm fed up of hearing about top 4 being like a trophy, I'm sorry, But I would rather win trophies like the FA Cup, Some of our fans have to stop mentioning top 4 like it's an achievement.

I’m giving this 5* Matth.

Fack the money in the game, fack Sky’s Race for Top Four, fack players who’d rather play for Shakhtar Donetsk because they’re in the CL every season.

Here’s to the greatest cup competition in the world

Spot on, I want us to win tonight, I want us to win trophies, Fck top 4 for today, We can deal with that next week.

Top 4 is a vehicle to staying/becoming proper trophy winners. In terms of your ability to attract players, as a Liverpool fan I would prefer you to win the FA cup and miss out on CL football. Short term success but long term struggle

We're still in the Europa League.

Ye so I don't want you to win that. FA Cup? Knock yourselves out

Yeah nobody has said top 4 is an achievement,

You have to weigh up the pros and cons. An FA cup is nice, but soon forgotten. Beating Chelsea & Arsenal is a big ask but it would be nice to win it.

Top 4 means more money and competing in a huge competition against the best teams.

We can also (hopefully) buy the likes of Sancho, Grealish, VDB and maybe a CB to boost the squad next year.

It's also important to get top 4 to retain players like Pogba.

Then there is the adidas situation where if we don't get in to Champions League we will lose £25m a year.

Not getting top 4 is more harmful to the club than the FA cup is beneficial in winning.

If the scheduling didn't screw Man Utd over then we'd go for it. But 4 games in 10 days is a stupid ask and just sheer incompetence from the FA.

As a fan I don't like prioritising, though I know managers have to if they are in all tbe comps. But i always want us to win the next game, so i want a win today while understanding if Ole rotates.

By the way Matth if gans want top four rather than a cup that's their prerogative, they don't have to shut ip about it.

Normally I d always say I’d prefer the trophy but as many have said you have to look at the bigger picture.

We are finally in a situation where we look like we have the makings of a top team. Missing out on top 4 may cause us to stagnate.

Also can’t remember any side ever putting in a title challenge while starting the season in the Europa League.

I want us to win the cup and will be cheering on the team later as much as any league game but if I had to choose then taking all into account it would have to be top 4.

There's a game tonight that the players and manager should set out to win at all reasonable, footballing, costs.

When they leave the pitch, having won or lost, they then prepare to set out to win the next game.

Prioritising for ridiculous reasons, such as those being suggested on these forums, is beneath the greatest club in the English league system. And the beneath the genuine supporters of the club

That isn’t correct.

If we miss out on CL football for one season, it’ll cost us £22.5m. The structure of the agreement is such that we can spread that reduction over the remaining five years of the ten-year contract with Adidas, meaning that we’d only be receiving £4.5m per year less.

Even better, under accounting rules, the club can report the reduced value for the entirety of the decade long deal, bringing the loss down to just £2.3m per season for accounting purposes.

Basically, it isn’t the big deal people are making out.

Crazy stat:
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won all five of his away games as Man Utd manager against Chelsea and Man City in all competitions - more than the Red Devils had won in their previous 19 such games under Alex Ferguson, David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho combined.
