David Moyes

He said the difference between him and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is he's been given time, Let's not forget the fact that Our former manager took a squad of Premier League winners to 7th, He also signed Marouane Fellaini and a negative attitude as well.

I have been looking at the stats and it is crazy how good a job Solskjaer has done this season. Just the players have let him down.

Don't entirely blame Moyes for what happened during his time at United. A declining squad that was probably no longer hungry, how much that summer was his summer was his fault is also debatable as well. However, his attempts to change so much behind the scenes was a huge part of his down fall. I understand the reasoning behind it, but in hindsight it was a mistake. He never looked at ease himself in the job

I think a big part of that is that before January most teams felt that by sitting back and letting have majority of the ball was the best way of beating us.

That’s probably why our stats appear dominant.

The Process, even before Fernandes came in we deserved to win most of our games. Just Fernandes added a bit of quality to turn them into wins. Remember we battered Man City away in the PL.

The difference between Moyes and Ole is respect. Moyes came in and made a fool of himself with key players, and lost the respect of the players. Within 4 months it was clear they didn't want to perform for him. I was a ST holder that year and I remember the likes of Carrick refusing to show for the ball in midfield. Moyes decimated morale.

Yeah in football you can earn points in different ways. Look at LVG 15/16 66 point side Then compare that to 18/19 66 points side and now this season good chance we end with 66 points. Completely different sides in domination but get the same points lol.

Doubt Moyes was ever going to get the respect he needed even if he did things differently. After so many years of success under Ferguson I think it's pretty much impossible for anyone to come in after him with their own ideas expecting to be repsected, epsecially not Moyes who's record before United wasn't that great.

Moyes, LvG and Jose were all not given enough time.

Moyes inherited a squad that was filled with players at the end of their career, or younger players that were terrible enough to be slowly (too slowly) moved further and further down the pecking order of clubs - I mean, come on, those two twatty twins that the club somehow thought were premier league standard.

The way the club treated all of it's first 3 managers post SAF is fitting only of lesser clubs.

At least they appear to be acting more sensibly now.

Moyes strikes me as someone whose enormous self-belief allows him to shake off his failures and put them behind him, allowing him to focus on the task in hand without worrying about what's gone before.

That's fair enough - you probably have to have a bit of that about you to have any sort of success at the top level. But it's surprising then that he seemed so ill at ease with the burden of managing United. You just got the sense that the job was too big for him, and that he was content to bring United down to a level that he was more comfortable with. Rather than trying to push himself to the next level, he showed himself to be a master of managing expectations.

If all three of our post-Fergie/pre-Ole managers had a single fatal flaw, that, for me, was Moyes's.
