Grealish

Bruno has looked poor last 3/4 games probably due to bad playing too much football since the restart and we don’t have anyone good enough to fill in there. Grealish would be ideal to fill in for him and he can also play wide left if rashford isn’t playing well.

I really think we have to get grealish. He may not be a regular starter but he’d still probably get 25 starts over the season in all competitions and play in most games. Don’t think he’d cost too much either as I think he probably has a gentleman’s agreement with villa. Maybe we could try and chuck Lingard in the deal.

in the same way that everything tastes better with bacon, everything sounds better in matt berry's voice. just try it the next time you're in a restaurant reading a menu.

Back in the day someone said of Nobb ( I think it was POTN) that if you read his comments with an Aussie accent then they would make sense.

i have tried that, and it didn't work.

i like robb as a poster, though recently i find that a lot of his comments make more sense in a scouse accent.

i have given this article a 1 star because you and a lot of utd fan have the misconception we struggled because we lacked a top creator.

Our struggles was because we lacked someone to control midfield, forcing ole to move our best creator at the time pogba deeper so we could control midfield better.
https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/solskjaer-open-to-deep-role-for-pogba-to-get-him-more-in-the/1s13f1gnhoqxb1wcvbzq49kr7r?fbclid=IwAR01-VwLuwbxo6a3H3Ou1LROyWPxw2gco3kD9K8jg_CFsjgySsNN7EkCnHU

Moving pogba deeper meant we needed someone to fill the creator role vacated and the likes of mata/pereira/lingard were suddenly thrust into the spotlight and exposed beyond reasonable doubt that they simply were not good enough.

Bruno has come in and is playing the #10 role fantastically. And I am sure while pogba prefers a #10 role he has no problem with a player as good as bruno playing his prefered position. I love pogba and while he will be good enough playing the deeper role against 80% of teams we wil face he will always struggle against the top 20% imo.

What we need the most is a cm/cdm capable of holding their own against the top 20% to give ole another option in midfield not someone to sit on the bench

This doesn’t work though as others have pointed out.

I am curious why this doesn't work so read the entire thread but no one mentions it.

Do you care to explain?

Partly because he doesn’t tend to control midfields very well. . You mention it yourself, though you are a bit off with your 20/80%.

you trot out this line constantly, but never actually explain what you mean by "controlling" a game, or why pogba doesn't do it (but presumably others do?)

with pogba in the team we tend to have more possession, create more chances, and concede fewer chances - does that count as control? if he has a higher successful passing percentage than others, is that control?

in roughly the same number of minutes this season as fernandes, he has roughly 20% more touches of the ball, 30% more passes, and a significantly higher passing success rate (85% to 76%) - is that control? mctominay has fewer passes - despite playing roughly 50% more minutes - and a worse pass success rate, so which of them controls the game more?

the only player i have ever seen you reference as controlling a midfield is modric, well, yeah, i think we all know that pogba is not modric, but i'd like to think that no one at the club has ever expected him to be modric.
