Let’s be entirely honest - that was a dreadful season. There was almost nothing to enjoy.
Poch left - love him or hate him he was a bit part of our identity and recent success, and it was a sad moment.
Jose came in - love him or hate him he has changed who we are as a club and our style of football.
Signings were mostly pretty poor, GLC is decent and Stevie has shown promise but the rest have been hugely underwhelming and I just cannot see any sort of top level footballer in NDombele.
Jan has gone, lockdown was rubbish, football since has been weird, Liverpool were on a par with us a couple of years ago and are now on a different planet, Utd look to be back, even frank has impressed with Chelsea. Wolves are excellent... the competition is stronger
Results and performances against Bournemouth and Sheffield make you wonder if anyone cares. If you’re Kane, you would be thinking very strongly about your options. We don’t really have a midfield, as much as I like Sissoko and winks, together they are not the answer.
However...
We have a good spine to the team. Hugo, an improved defence, a fantastic forward line. There were signs that things were improving, some good results recently and some sort of identity on the pitch - it’s not pretty, but it looked effective for a few games
Jose will he backed, Levy cannot do another poch and ignore his requests otherwise why sign him? So I’m hopeful that midfield will improve. Toby looks back to his old level, and we’re only a few players away from a decent team
The Europa is winnable - and we can’t say that about the CL. And we have a manager that has experience of what it takes to win. We have the stadium and no more distractions.
Next season really could go either way, but right now I’m still hopeful that 19/20 was a one off year of sheite and things are going to get better. If ever there was a time for Mourinho to prove he’s still got it, it’s now. Call me stupid but I’m somehow looking forward to next season
Honest appraisal

Op
Although it wasn`t a great season. I still personally enjoyed it, as I always do, no matter where Spurs finished, after all these years I still get a buzz when Spurs play.
So no matter the results I will still continue to back the club, come what may.

WUM

Why ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of our supporters amaze me Don. I give honest answers, and I get accused of Wumming, very strange.

Nope you make stuff up and filter people when they call you out on it.
Total and utter WUM

"When people say Levy Must Back Jose, then what do they mean? Is it sums of money, is it certain players, and if so who and what sort of spending level = manager has been backed?"
********************
They are thinking back to the season when Levy bought absolutely no new players into the squad, and left Pochettino high & dry.
That's what they mean........this doesn't happen again!

Chelsea never brought any players in last season Ted, and have reached Top Four and a Cup Final, and are still in the CL.
You don`t have to spend billions every season to progress, although money helps.
Bottom line is Spurs had a shocking finish to the last season in the Prem, and just carried on to this season. Cannot blame Levy for that. It was purely down to the players and the manager of the time.

The lack of signings that summer, preceded and followed by nothing in the Jan windows certainly contributed our rotten form in 2019, BUT you also have to look at Poch in this. If he considers himself to be the real deal then he HAS TO insist on buys. Reportedly he refused some players, preferring to wait for his chosen targets. Levy is a tight-fisted guy we all know but it takes a strong personality to make sure we get players in. Rest assured, Jose will get what he wants (within reason). It may not be the sort of player we want but he would not sit by and watch us buy no one all summer.

OP how long have you been a Spurs fan? This season might be 'dreadful' if you are comparing to the last few years. Go back a bit further and we've seen plenty worse.
We finished above Arsenal. And of the clubs above us, all have more money than us bar Leicester. Factor in the injuries to key players, and Poch burnout and we've done well.
Footy wasn't pretty for the most part, but there are signs we've laid some foundations that will reap dividends next year.

Thanks fr keeping Sandy honest.... a WUM he has become.
But I do hope that Mourinho will get what he wants .... "within reason"!!
If Levy is the judge of what's reasonable.......we may be left with our current back four
