I thought I would look at the stats to see who Celtic's biggest rival and toughest opponent has been in recent history. Here are the findings of the study:
- In the last 20 meetings between Rangers and Celtic, Celtic have won 10 and drawn 7.
- This includes 3 occasions where Celtic scored 5 goals.
It was therefore concluded that Rangers were not a rival to Celtic and not a tough opponent for them.
It took some really extensive analysis to determine Celtic's toughest opponent, their biggest fear, their worst nightmare. Here are the head to head stats between Celtic and their biggest rivals:
- In the last 20 meetings between Celtic and this side, Celtic have failed to score in 13 (thirteen) of them.
- This includes 6 matches in a row between early 2015 and late 2017, where Celtic didn't score a single goal against this opponent.
It was therefore concluded that this team is Celtic's biggest rival and is actually better than them because they have avoided defeat to Celtic in 65% of their last meetings and during 100% of Celtic's "most dominant period in their history".
That team is of course, Dundee.

Found out today Mrs Silver's firm had represented the SPFL so all good. Are you sure, I asked - was it not 3x QCs on the arbitration panel? Naw says she - lawyers do all the paperchase and presentation work and the QCs just decide & sign off after reading it all.
