These Saudis had some kind of interest in BeinSports (or whatever they are known as), so their coming into Newcastle would threaten the established broadcasters monopoly. The TV rights has probably been a major reason why this takeover fell through, when all is said and done all they care about is pound notes.

Apparently the Saudi's pulled out on human rights grounds, after having a tour of a Sports Direct factory.
