Ole’s signings rated

Daniel James
6/10

After his first few games it looked like we’d found a gem but his season tailed off. Definitely played more than he should and probably more than expected. Remains to be seen whether he is good enough long term to even be a squad player. Next season will tell a lot imo when he will likely be even further down the pecking order.

Aaron Wan Bissaka
7.5/10

Huge upgrade on Ashley Young from a defensive point of view. Came in for a big fee and has to improve his attacking game but he’s put in some big performances in big games. There’s been glimpses that he’s getting better going forward and it looks like he will fill that position for years to come.

Harry Maguire
7/10

Came for a huge fee and we knew he was overpriced but other than the odd dodgy moment he’s been good. Him and AWB have improved our defensive record. Also club captain now. I like Lindelof but with a more pacy partner I think we’ll see a better Maguire. He’s dominant in the air and started to pop up with a few goals 2nd half of the season too.

Bruno Fernandes
9/10

A revelation. Signing of the season. Came in when we were at one of lowest points in recent history and changed everything. Probably the best player in the league since he joined. The only thing stopping me giving him a higher rating is that he faded a little bit at the very end of the season probably due to burnout. If we’d signed him in the summer we would have been comfortably 3rd at worst imo.

Odion Ighalo
7/10

Not the most fashionable signing but he’s done a job. Scored in every start so far and has arguably been underused since the break. Don’t know why he didn’t start against Chelsea in your FA Cup for instance. Still think he could play a valuable role until January if that’s when his time here ends.

From what I’ve seen of you guys, generous on James. I’d give him a 5.

Also i think AWB deserves an 8, he’s improved his attacking game a lot since joining you.

Shudder to think what AWB’s attacking game was like before because it’s been awful mostly.
I think he’s been a 7

Terrible in that regard. But imagine if he was good, or if he can step it up (I don’t think he will, doesn't have the raw ability and vision, but live in hope), he would be amazing. That defensive ability with quality ability to beat players with accurate and clever delivery, would be unstoppable.

Sadly I doubt we’ll see much more than a little improvement as an attacker.

All of them have been good signings, because all of them were necessary signings.

Ighalo and James should have been utilised more often.

Both better than the some of the wasters that get more time.

United still need more in the way of proper EPL quality strikers/centre forwards than just Ighalo though.

And someone to partner Maguire.

Yeah he was absolute rubbish going forward for Palace.

He’s been much better for you guys from what I’ve seen, still a long long way to go, but at least he has worked hard to improve a problem area. That deserves an extra half point for me

For me, Maguire is very comfortably a better signing than AWB.

Arguably our player of the season.

Extremely generous with Ighalo and James. Ighalo has had very little impact outside of a few cup games. And Dan James is facking shiiiiit.

James has been overused if anything. And I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that nobody in the entire division could have put in worse performances than him since around September time.

Ighalo has been used as he should be. He's not of the quality to start for United in the PL but is useful when we wish to rotate the squad for cup games

Agree with the OP's ratings

Bruno has been sensational.

The others have been solid but we need even better from him next.

I'm not convinced that we'll win a PL with Maguire and AWB in defence but we'll see.

Teams have won the league with worse players in defence.

You are failing to take into account that IAmMe is genuinely so mental, he would sooner see James and Ighalo start than Rashford and Martial.
