I have this very uncomfortable feeling about everyones number 1 summer transfer. I have never been able to understand why until now.
Sancho on paper seems the perfect signing. Age, experience, position, goals, assists and he is even English. So why can I not shake the feeling it is too good to be true. Probably because I have only seen him play a few games for BVB an England. But I am sure this applies to most.
So my question is where is this confidence coming from that he will be a success given the transfer fee and wages being talked about. Given our luck with kagawa and mikhi from BVB in the past and pretty much every attacking signing bar martial in the last 7 years?

There's fact that he shouldn't have to adapt too much to life in England. I tend to look at attributes and then it's up to the players and coaches to get the best out of them.
He's quick, tricky, can create and can score. Beyond that there's is not much else we can evaluate in the player. Yes, it's big money but that's the money we have to pay for the player we need

It’s not, but he does play in a team that’s almost perfectly set up for him, good player but I have slight concerns about Dortmund’s style making him look better than he is.
Only slight concerns, he’s a good player.

I wouldn't sign him at that price. I would rather get my scouts busy.

So it the Portuguese league in comparison to the PL. But Bruno has stepped up fine. I don't think Sancho will have a problem personally. And at 20, he has plenty of time to improve further.

rosso, my point was more about coming into a United, after a £100m signing, and having to carry the burden of attack. There pressure on him now isn’t to do that. He can just get his head down and play his own game, knowing there are others in the team that can step up. He’s walking into a different team from what he would have been last season.
But I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. And if he doesn’t hit the ground running we’ve got the luxury of him easing into things at the club now.

Yeah, I don’t disagree with what you’re saying either. You’re talking about a responsibility to carry the attack, particularly given the price tag, which is a different kind of pressure that won’t be there to nearly the extent that it might have been if Martial, Rashford and Greenwood keep on firing.
He should only have to worry about getting his head down and working as hard as he can. Hopefully the fans acknowledge that and, provided we see the graft, can forget about the fee and just enjoy watching the football develop.
(Who am I kidding?)
