Red Cough Card

Footballers could be sent off if they deliberately cough at an opponent under new rules issued during the coronavirus pandemic.

Referees will be told that coughs aimed at the face of another player or an official can be deemed a red-card offence.

I thought these players had regular tests to make sure they were clear?

Can see players taking advantage of coughing. Should cough repeatedly while running with the ball and no one will try to tackle them.

Has deliberate coughing ever been a thing?

Players are not supposed to be spitting either, but I have noticed plenty doing that. Disgusting at any time, let alone during a pandemic. As usual though zero is being done about it. Should yellow card any player that spits, and if they spit a 2nd time, red card.

How do you think I’ve gotten away with it for so long?

First of all, a negative test result has a definite probability of being false. Positive results are far more reliable.
Second, if a player deliberately coughs at another player he should be red carded and immediately tested; if that test comes back positive he should be banned for life..... for threatening the life of another player.

That should put an end to any such crap.
