The Return Of The King

The king is back and he's now unveiled as the new First team assistant.

“Ledley will join as a member of our first team staff, working alongside the coaches, analysts and playing squad both at the training centre and on match-days," Tottenham said on their official website.

“He will also take on the role of supporting our academy players as they look to step up to the first team." the club added.

Nothing more reassuring the one to have the legend encouraging you if you were one of the academy players!

What a good signing this is! The best so far!

Still can't work out why he's a legend but always good to see a club employ ex players imo.

I'm tired of telling supposed Spurs fans on here that Ledley King was by far the best defender in England at his time. His career was cut short by a congenital bone condition that affected his knees.
He was selected for the England WC Squad to South Africa WC even though it was known he would not be able to play in consecutive games ...he was THAT good!
And yes, he captained the 2008 Spurs team that beat Chelsea in the League Cup final.
Will be a great addition to the coaching staff

Watch the King make up ten yards on Arjen Robben, who was one of the fastest players in his day - went on from Chelsea to Bayern Munich:

LFC fans need not concern themselves with the question why a local lad, came through the academy, developed in to a world class defender, captained the club, showed loyalty staying his whole career, is considered a legend amongst Spurs fans
