He was laughing because we have a lot of young players.

Our average squad age is 25 - with a fair few over 30s in it. How is that not building for 5 years?
Experience is definitely not a bad thing when you are bringing through 8 or 9 players under 23.

Willian would be on the left.
It is not a signing I am excited by, the links to Gabriel and Partey are far more what I want to see actually happening. And if Coutinho was really an option then him over Willian all day long.

However, with Saka and Martinelli still raw, and able to play in other roles, then I don't mind adding experience.

I reckon we'll use him as a no.10, we've got no other options there and he can play on the wings when we play 3 at the back. Saka is ready to be a starter next season so can't see us making such a big investment in Willian to play as a winger.

Didn’t Willian play mostly as an attacking mid in Russia?

Not sure but he was an AM on football manager He's technically sound enough to play there, not as creative as Ozil but it would be good to have a more dynamic player in the middle.

That's not why I laughed. I laughed because we have a lot of young players and because of your pretentiousness about your manager.

Good signing. Not the most creative but very good in possession, great at transitioning play from defence to attack, good work rate and pretty good at FKs.

Except Ozil, who has always been a link up player so not suited to the tactics we use and you need a stronger defensive midfield behind him to get away with him and ESR is coming back into the squad.

Willian has to play LW. Saka can't carry a whole season of starts, he's still way too baby boy for his body to cope. Willian is too old to be starting every game. With Martinelli out 'til halway, there's plenty of game time to go around.

Besides that the LWB/LB position is Tierney's. No way should we drop him or play him at CB, to accomodate Willian playing LWB.

Truly, you should know by now that when it comes to transfers we don't get/go for. The answer to the question why. Is always and always has been "Because the owner is a cheapskate."
