Spurs are getting older, According to

Sandy!! YUP... you didn't guess that did you?
Sandy saying something like this........

"I think you are forgetting that Walker, Rose, Dembele and Eriksen have all left, and our CBs were getting older. The team peaked maybe three/four seasons back, and money has been spent, and will still be spent, but it takes time to rebuild. The time for Spurs to win trophies was four seasons back. Once that didn`t happen was going to be difficult to keep going with the same bunch of players. "

Oh deary Deary me!
Sandy...Get behind our club you old and tired WUM!
And filter ME all you want!

Actually Spurs fans .... truth be told... he's right for once!
But he always accuses me of being pessimistic.
And now, here he is, Mr. Sandy..the big time pessimist!
I would say... Sandy is a hypocrite. Pure and simple...he's out in the open now!

Ozil the winner of many trophies and Sissoko the winner of f all. Contradictory for a serial winner advocate like yourself

Trouble with Sissoko is that his game relies entirely on work rate and physicality, which are the attributes that drop off a cliff when players get older. If his legs suddenly go (which they will at some point in a 4-year contract running in his 30s) then he's so technically poor that he will have nothing to fall back on, and he'll be absolutely worthless.

It's right that his sell-on value is currently higher than it would've been without the new contract, but he'll need to be sold sooner rather than later because the time between max value and zero value might be pretty short with Sissoko.

You can't compare Ozil to Sissoko. Sissoko works his socks off where as Ozil is a lazy funker. Plus Sissoko's wages will be much much less. Smaller clubs like Brighton, Fulham, Palace and many more would take take Sissoko in a hear beat.

Yes currently, but a players decline *can* be rapid after 30.

Who’s to say in a year he’s not fallen off a cliff and you’re lumbered with a long expensive contract on a player you can’t shift

Yeah, this.

Sissoko has his uses against certain opposition and when employing certain tactics, the problem is when he gets involved going forward, he almost always ruins counter attacks and attacking momentum by always playing the safe pass or fluffing his lines. He is a useful squad player if used correctly.
