Rodrigo on the go....

Update - Valencia confirm that an agreement is in place with Leeds for Rodrigo... medical Wednesday.....

Looks like Rodrigo has verbally agreed a three-year deal with us, but fee has yet to be agreed with valencia and Orta and Radz are in town today to discuss....£30-35m being talked about.

Plays anywhere across the forward line (wing, striker, number 10, AM). Cover for Pablo, a different option to Bamford maybe? Interesting stat on him - Over the last two seasons, Rodrigo assisted 13 goals in La Liga. Only three forwards have more (Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Luis Suarez). Widening that data set just a little, only four forwards have created more of what Opta defines as ‘big chances’ than Rodrigo (18)

He's already scored in champions league vs Chelsea and upset Fat Frank, so that'll do me.

Thoughts?

His view will be Strujik will step in if Koch or Cooper get injured

If Bielsa has faith in Strujik to be the new Berardi I would be fine with that.

I'd prefer two new centrebacks, however this is how promising youngsters get their chance and I have faith in Bielsa's ability to get the best out of our youth and to also know his players.

There’s also talk of Origi and Brewster from Liverpool. Think we’ll get another 2 permanent signings and then maybe added another couple of loans. Origi on loan for a season with an option to buy wouldn’t be too bad

I am delighted to see Rodrigo coming in, but is anyone concerned about the alleged costs? 100k a week and 27 million is the latest I've heard. That's eye-watering. I know we are dining at the big boys' table, but have we bitten off more than we can chew?

Don't worry …. no goldfish purchased as yet.

Anyway, here's always Gerald Krasner to fall back on if things go pear shaped …..

Saw he was in charge of administration oversight at Wigan. Described it as the hardest job he's had in football.

Good job it went so well for us then, aye?

Top players cost money. Going rate

I doubt if he cost 100k per week to be fair.. could be wrong

but yeah, agree with Mike - if he's the right fit for the team, and Bielsa thinks he can be a success, pay the lad

If he's on that much, he needs showing the way to The Peacock to get the first round in - for everyone.
