Matty Cash has signed for Aston Villa. This confirms Forest's status as a club going nowhere apart from treading water in the Championship.
Going to Veal-la some how seems to make it worse?

Championship teams will always lose players when Premier league teams coming sniffing, as a Leeds fan we saw plenty of that. Trick is, do what Brentford do, sell a star and replace them with someone as good or better.

I don't agree that the club is going nowhere, Bear. Since EM bought the club we have finished 9th and 7th in the league; our highest placing for many years. Off the field even bigger improvements have been made. No more embargoes, no more winding up orders, no more being denied credit by local suppliers. We are in good shape.
It's very disappointing to see Cashy leave but nothing new. Players want to play at the highest level they can, and I think Cash may go on to even better things than a mid table Premier League club. At the same time even without the spectre of FFP all clubs need to be run in a sound financial way.
Most of the money we have received will probably go towards operating costs (fair enough). But hopefully the manager will be given sufficient to bring in a few hidden gems such as Brice Samba, and Yuri Ribeiro.
We finally have a stable well run club and a manager going into his second full season and I believe we will gain promotion if we continue along this path.
Let's continue to give them our full support.

Darikwa and Jennings can cover RB at championship level for us.
We need attacking midfield with real goal threat to help Grabbs and Lolleh if we going to be a threat for promotion.

Gutted that we lost Cash, but 14m is good business.
The squad as a whole is stronger. We have a few unknowns, but as one of the replies said, they could be another Samba or Ribiero.
Personally. I’d bring someone in at RB and offload Jenkinson. However, Gabriel looked a cracking player a few seasons back before injury, and Richardson could also be ready.
Ian looks a strange one at LB, but then I remember how poor Bong was.
You’ve got to think our Ins are nearly complete. Maybe a winger or an AM the priority? Then a goalkeeper and an unlikely RB?
Outgoings could still dictate what else we need of course.

Good luck to Cash, don’t think he particularly wanted to go but he is merely a commodity. I believe another season with us would have been beneficial too both parties, I look at Burke, Lansbury, Brereton and Appiah ( who tbh I haven’t heard much of recently), all were sold for decent money chasing the dream, and none have exactly set the world on fire. The money will ease FFP worries but I doubt we’ll see much re-investment in the team. We’ve had some decent signings so far and some we’ll have to wait and see.
