We're back and we're back with a bang.
Ok maybe not quite a bang, maybe a half hearted attempt at a tackle then a fall over wheezing but we are back. It's been 6 months since many kicked a ball again and probably 2-2.5 years since the JA boys properly played 5's together. Lockdown has not been kind on the fitness - understatement of the year.
However, we are now two weeks back in and the sharpness is returning. Last night was far better than last week as NNH's No Hoper's played EliteWolf's Enigma's. It was the first time in a long time a mostly JA affair though Jimmy dropping out this week for work left us down a traditional JA'er.
It was a close affair all night which the No Hoper's ground out a victory by two goals. NNH, KrisBhoy, Call Sign, Spanish Dave and Call Sign Jnr were up against EliteWolf, Coisty, Chopper, Shooter and Greek Dave.
I would have given NNH the Man of the Match if he could find the net for the first 50 minutes and I may be biased but I am giving the Man of the Match to Call Sign Jnr. He was excellent all game and never looked out of place other than physicality against Chopper and Elite. A couple of brilliant goals including sending Greek Dave for a Chicken Gyros before slotting away.
Not much has changed in the past few years. Still the same competitive edge to a game, still the same quick attacking football from both sides, still the same desperately searching for a last minute player when someone drops out.
And that is where you come in fellow football fan. How would you like to run out amongst the JA footballers. How would you like to take you place amongst the JA Immortals? As many know the key to running a regular 5's meet is a big pool of players. Right now we have probably 14 but when football training or work commitments get in the way it can leave us scrambling for players just to get a game.
Fancy a game? Any standard of player of fitness welcome - we always pick the teams to get it as balanced as we can. No trials, no signing on fee, no sell on clause. Just drop me a message. We play 6-7 on a Thursday.

Is this a one off game and if we win we play Serbia or Norway for a spot at the euros ?

I can get that to be honest especially when someone is entering a care facility which by its nature will be populated by vulnerable people.
Heard on radio this morning the following.
Plane lands at Gatwick from Portugal at 11pm with an Englishman, a Welshman and a Scotsman who’ve all been on holiday together.
Upon landing, the Englishman goes wherever he wants and takes his time.
The Welshman must go straight home and isolate for 14 days.
The Scotsman must have a fast car and break all the speed limits to get to Gretna by 4am or he then has to self isolate for 14 days.

Didn’t like that surface, my feet got caught in it a few times and went over in my ankle early on, was too dry and sticky (if that makes sense) was some battle in my side over who could go in goals, could barely save a shot before someone else was over asking to take a turn in 😂😂 the wee soup boy was good especially since he was against some guys 4 times his size and age... enjoying getting the run outs again, still hate losing
