Impact

With our season set to start tomorrow, who do you think will have the biggest impact of all of our new signing next season ? I'm going to go for the below

1. Werner
2. Ziyech
3. Havertz
4. Chilwell
5. Silva

First things first I think all of them will have a positive impact on the team and improve us massively on last year. I've gone for them in that order because I believe:

werner will score alot of goals. Even in a bad side I think he'd score goals, his movement and link up look class. With the creative players we have in the team he should be getting plenty of chances.

Ziyech has that eye for a pass and is tenacious, plus he has consistently done it year in year out. Admittedly in a poorer league but it's always a good sign if a player can continually preform year in year out.

Havertz could be the best signing of the lot, he looks pure class but I think it may take a season to fully settle and find his groove in the Premier league.

Chilwell already knows the league and is a good solid player but even at his best I think is ceiling is much lower than the other 3. Be good to have a solid left back who can both defend and attack for a change.

Silva has a proven track record but does not have age on his side and the pace of the Premier league may be a stuggle.

Werner will be the biggest transformation in terms of being a direct upgrade on the position he’s taking, brilliant striker.

Think Havertz will be class once he’s used to the league.

Silva I expect to struggle with the league and get caught out a fair bit. He’ll look good when you’re dominating poor sides though.

Yawn, Chilwell would be the best LB in the PL if he was signed by Man poo

I actually think ziyech will have the strongest season. He may frustrate fans sometimes but he’ll probably end up having a high output season. Players like him just appear to do well in modern football these days.

Havertz next. No real reason he shouldn’t do well, he’s experienced, has shown he can play in multiple positions/different tactical set ups.

Werner out of the ‘big three’ signings I am worried may be most likely to have a slow start to the season. Don’t like saying it cos I don’t wanna tempt fate but can’t deny that solely in his career so far he has had success playing in a very particular formation and system. Small sample size of him being up front on his own or wide left for Germany he’s apparently been less good. I think he may need some adapting this season unless we set up similar to Leipzig. I wouldn’t have minded us setting up similar to Leipzig (Giroud or Abraham partnering Werner) but looks increasingly likely it won’t be like this.

Chilwell well guess it depends on how much you rate him. I’m quite meh about him. He’s ok. On some sort of spectrum of average-solid. I guess the least we can hope is he’s not an obvious weakness in our team like Alonso/Emerson are but even that I don’t think is guaranteed 🤷🏿‍♂️ We’ll see.

Thiago Silva I think could be fine. He is old but still retains his athleticism and was kind of a late bloomer in his top level career.

Only if we sold Luke Shaw as part of the deal.

I think Ziyech will be our best player. Surprised that nobody else here seems to rate him. His crossing will create lots of goals, and he scores too. Plus he takes great free kicks. Looking forward to him surprising everyone this season.

I remember when Scotland captain Bobby Evans came down here from Celtic at the end of his career. Little ginger guy - superb footballer - he made a huge difference to our defence.

Hoping for the same from Silva, and so I'm going for him to have most impact.

Wasn’t silva missing when brazil got smashed 7-1 by Germany in a wc semi? I’m sure he’d have made a difference (How much I don’t know) , he’s a top drawer defender, knocking on now but may prove to be a great signing.

There’s other examples of past it players lifting teams, Gary mcallister for Liverpool for example, I had high hopes for blanc when he joined us, super classy defender but I think he was just too old by the point he played for us, saf was a long term admirer.

I'm plumping for Havertz & Ziyech joint first, as our most impactful signings.
Their all-round ability and cutting-edge in the final-third (inside and outside the box) is mountainous, solid track record with left-footed attackers and these ones happen to be the most complete we've had years.

Maybe it's my favoritism towards left-footers talking.
I naturally gravitate towards them, as there is something about (clean) left-footed passes and strikes infinitely more aesthetically pleasing than right. Elegance.

We've have had some of the greatest elegant left-footed players over the decades.
Thinking Tambling, Mata, Greaves, Robben, Le Saux etc to name a few.

Closely followed by Werner and Chilwell second.
Silva third.
