Work ethic of Spurs players on the pitch -

diabolical (just like in our last few matches). We'd be very low down in another table for a league season in terms of blocks, interceptions, tackles won, etc. Everton deserved to win today with their hard working performance, I'd prefer Ancelotti to be our manager!

So what manager will be replacing the special one when the inevitable happens?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Levy will finally be able to land Eddie Howe on a free.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In all fairness I like Eddie Howe, he done a brilliant job at Bournemouth.

Even by his own pi55 poor standards, Sissoko was a total embarrassment yesterday
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree which is why I want to know if the decision to bring him on was tactical or an injury?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Alli had to be replaced.
Sissoko had a bad game today, but choosing him may not have been a bad decision, depending upon how he has shown up in practice.
After all, he is still in the French National squad, and that means Deschamps still rates him.
I think Ndombele should have been Alli's sub at the half.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So it was tactical then?

If so I don't agree. Without being great we were much better in the first half than the second. Infact our best spell of the game was just before half time. I think he should of left things alone for a bit.

The 2nd half performance was 49 mins of nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was tactical. Mourinho even said it himself when he was asked the question.

Sissoko coming on in order to change a game is laughable, but it's not as if Dele was having a good game anyway. Ok off the ball and poor on it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not saying Dele was having a good.game.

However when he was on the pitch we created a few chances whereas when he went off there was nothing going forward.

Why were the players lazy though, is it because they weren't fit enough or weren't motivated enough? Do you think like us, they get affected by the transfer window and lose patience in Levy and it crushes their confidence to want to perform knowing we'll get nowhere with him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably all of the above...... The buck stops with the guy at the top..... He's the one making all the decisions.... Wrong manager, wrong signings, wrong recruitment strategy, Too muich focus on making money, not enough focus on winning football matches.

Cannot succeed in the Prem by trying to do things on the cheap. It worked for a while (Poch in his prime) but this situation was coming..... anyone with half a brain cell could see it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree that Levy is the number 1 candidate to blame for our problems but as far as that performance yesterday went, he had little bearing on it, unless as I say, players have no trust in him and it affects how they perform.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dier, Toby, Davies, Sissoko, Winks, Dele, Moura are not good enough for a top 4 side. Doesn't matter who the manager is. The squad development/ recycling over the past couple of years is a joke..... That's Levy's, Enic's, Hitchen's fault
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of them were performing well at the back end of last season, and since Mourinho came we showed top 4 form comparative to other teams. That was definitely not the maximum those players could have shown yesterday. Well maybe for Davies and Sissoko.

Change the manager.... Wont matter, this squad (as it stands right now) won't finish in the top half.

TBF, Levy has been unlucky with timing (Covid) but while securing the club's LT sustainability/ future (He hopes) he has totally facked the football side of things for years to come.

We all know Jose wont be around for long, neither will Kane, This year will be a total disaster and then we will start again next season with another young manager and another 5 year "project"

Wake me up in 2022..... Can't be ar5ed being annoyed by Spurs till then

Yeah I didn't agree with the decision. At the same time, we probably weren't going to win the game with Dele playing a full 90 either. I don't have faith we'll see the best of him ever again, which is a huge shame because I feel he could be world class if he got his act together.

Mourinho I’m sure will face a series of “firsts” at Tottenham - first ever opening day defeat. First ever club he hasn’t won a trophy at. First ever club he hasn’t had a proper transfer budget. First ever mid-table club he’s managed.

It’s Spursy to the extreme, but our Spursiness is mainly down to one man, Levy.

First ever club where he's moved the dreaded third season, a season forward.

In the Poch days you identified high energy type of players and now it is all about sitting deep and trying to score on the break with players who are not suited to this.

If he wants to play a 4231 he needs creativity in the position where Alli plays. Alli is a runner in the box not a player who can play the killer pass. He is rubbish in tight spaces. Spurs 2 deep lying midfield players are crap at quick passing. We have the same at liverpool but we have our fullbacks and Firmino as our playmakers.

He should have gone for James or a similar player.

Mourinho made other changes besides replacing Alli with Sissoko....he moved Son from left wing to center where he was ineffective..... that was a really bad management decision.

James is below average. He'd fit right in. Sign him up.
