After a somewhat sobering and ordinary display in the last match, Derby continue their cup run after an impressive 3-2 win on penalties against the Cumbrian giants Barrow.
It's a new game, hence renewed optimism for a new horizon, which still seems frustratingly a very long way away. Derby are struggling with influential absentees and seem very fragile. TL, Duane, Waggy and Bielek are still not working but an aging Rooney should start.
Saturday's performance was concerning. We have no link to Marriot - Whittaker is wasted attempting that role. We can only hope that the great Polish hope of the protracted transfer saga will step up.
We can hope.
