Class is permanent so I’m sure Bale will have great games and I know spurs fans are buzzing their hero returns and they have every reason to be but it is risky and no guarantees he’ll really do amazing I’m certainly not fazed.

An injury prone 31 year old who hasn’t played at PL intensity for over 7 years or a lot of football in general for the last 2 years really doesn’t worry me as a rival

But be great to see him back
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Likewise with Werner, Havertz, Ziyech and Thiago, not one minute of PL intensity experience between them, they could all flop, take time to settle or hit the ground running. None of that will happen with Bale, once he gets on the pitch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No need to get defensive I’m just saying try and be real, you can’t expect Bale to go back to being one of the best in the PL because it’s not going to happen, he’ll have his great games but he’s not going to light it on fire And there’s obviously the risk it could end up like a Falcao

Like he’s a great player but you’re going on about him like his Messi/Ronaldo ffs he’s a 31 year old past his prime injury prone player who hasn’t played in the PL for 7 years ffs

World class on his day but it isn’t going to be a weekly occurrence

Bale won`t cost us much at all, commercially he is Levy`s wet dream, shirt sales alone will cover a fair chunk of what we are paying
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do people keep bring this up, its a complete myth. You do realise that when you get a sponsor deal, you dont get the full shirt sales. Thats mainly for the manufacturer. 10-15% of the revenue is for the club, on top of the sponsor deal. Spurs probably will sell about 300K jerseys at £90 so you are looking at around £2.7 - 4M. Thats total shirt sales. But you only need to look at the increase of Bale jerseys. Thats not going to be tends of thousands more shirts.

You have no idea how many extra shirts Spurs will sell and also have no idea what contract Spurs have regarding percentages etc with the kit manufacturers, and neither do I. What is clear though, is it Bale has a worldwide commercial appeal and will increase our commercial revenues, that is why I said " a fair chunk of what we are paying" and not `most` or `all`.

you clearly haven't watched him play the past 2 seasons
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Neither of you son because you’re c*** of a manager only played. him about 13 times in the season. I’m not listening to anything that comes out of a Real Madrid fans mouth. Bunch of spoilt bas. tards that even booed Ronaldo at one point. Pathetic set of supporters.

Amazed Spurs have made this move, 31 year old who relies on his athletic qualities and is injury prone? Got Torres/Sanchez written all over it.

Reguillon is an excellent move however, surely with him and Docherty common sense says 3atb?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Taa and Robertson are attacking full backs, do Lolpool play with 3 at the back? I think not.

King Jose mainly plays with 4 at the back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm more basing it on the fact Mourinho never plays with two attacking fullbacks bombing forward in a back four. He gives one license to bomb forward at will while asking the other to tuck in, neither Docherty or Reguillon suit the latter role.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You see we have a squad of other players and surprising enough those two you mention are not the only full backs at the club. Davies, Sess, Aurier and Tanganga along with Cirkin can all play there.

So in one game for example we could play Doherty & Davies and in another we could Reg and Tangana at RB.

If we are chasing a game we could sling both of them on to provide width down both flanks. Hope this helps you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can put whatever patronising spin on it you want, but the fact of the matter is, Mourinho has never given both his fullbacks license to bomb forward in a back four even when he's had the defensive structure around him to get away with it, so not quite sure what makes you think he'll suddenly start now.

And by naming those other fullbacks make the case for Spurs to go to a back three higher. Both Aurier and Sessengon's skillsets are more suited to wingback while Tanganga and Davies would look more at home as an outside CB in a back three.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you really think we'd play 5 at the back, with Son Bale Kane, leaving 2 in CM.

You can have 2 attacking full backs on the pitch at the same time, does not mean they both attack at the same time. With Davies, he is poor attacking so it was almost the case that he was LCB and Aurier was RW. Reguilon will balance it up. I dont expect us to be so full on attacking as Liverpool BUT we will have more attacking midfielders on the pitch instead.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
its bollox, extra shirt sales because of Bale is never going to pay a big chunk of the transfer. Its is a widely know fact that manufacturers take 85-90% of shirt sales. What I say is closer to the truth than the nonsense you come up with.

Shirt sales to pay for a transfer, or a big chunk, is a myth.
