Just watched an interview with bale on sky sports. Geoff shreeves declared him as britains most successful player of all time. Now bale has had an absolutely outstanding career but surely this is a bit over the top and a bit of a slight on a number of others, off the top of my head
Dalglish, souness, neville, ferdinand have all won a plethora of trophies during exceptional careers.
I fully appreciate bale has won 4 champions leagues but dalglish and souness won 3 alongside a load of other trophies. Neville and ferdinand have won more league titles than i can remember alongside success in europe. Bale won the league twice in spain.
Is geoff getting ahead of himself or does the claim have merit?

in the end with nodisrespect to anyone, giggs can claim.demestic success while Phil neal obviously covers the European aspect.
Bale did well to get out of spurs when he did and going back now shows where his career is at. of that I'm sure we can all agree.

He’s not the most successful in terms of titles.
But he is arguably the best British player ever.
I’d say Bobby Charlton, Rooney & Bale are the Top 3.
Hard to argue against Charlton though; World Cup title, World Cup Golden Ball, Ballon d’Or, European Cup, League titles. Great goal numbers from midfield, before Rooney broke his records he was England & United’s all-time leader in goals.
