Lampard

All, well most, Chelsea fans knew when we took him on he was a rookie manager, installed at the time because we were a mess, having lost our best player and no opportunity to to invigorate the squad apart from within the academy, at a time when no sane manager of any note would have touched us with a barge pole!

He's come through that having bought us further than most expected and now in the process of having to bed in new players, some of which he's not had the opportunity to use as of yet and last years best player hasn't even featured yet.

If you lauded his appointment last summer, knowing his inexperience, the least you can do is stand by him as he learns his trade now!

well said Brummie.

Put me down for that also.

I like the fact that (like me) he spotted that once again Alonso was not marking for the third goal. Another one like Kepa that needs to be moved on.

I’ll stand by him other than if he plays alonso, which leaves me unable to defend him. It is career suicide and we all want frank to succeed.

It's good to have positive debate about all things Chelsea.

I think most of the criticism at this moment,is more frustration than anything, which is understandable to a degree when you see the players we have.
We just have to be patient and stand behind Frank and the team,I have no doubts this team will be top drawer over the next 2 or 3 years.

Yeah I agree, it's the high of our summer with all the new faces leaking out after a slightly sobering start. It's illogical but emotions always are.

We need one big performance to get that unanimous positive energy back. Beating Spurs conclusively could be the tonic

Nick, I think that once Chilwell is fully fit we won't see Alonso again, I hope so at least, otherwise you certainly have a point.

This summer of spending makes patience all the more imperative - did anyone think all these signings were going to walk straight into the team and gell straight away?

I certainly didn't Brummie, but even if I did only three of our new signings have played in the PL so far. The other three signings haven't even been available to play yet. And when you factor that Pulisic is unavailable at the moment as well you realise that we're a ways off being remotely ready to hit the high gears yet.

I repeat, we need that one big performance where we're the better team from start to finish to ease frustrations & anxieties, cos I do believe that's all this is on the whole.

For the amount fans will jump to the defense of players & management (rightfully of course), sometimes I don't understand why fans can't have a little more faith in their fellow fans? They have good & bad days just like players & managers, don't they deserve the same leeway to make mistakes? Not be accused of fickleness or being spoilt on a whim which is the equivalent of saying a player/manager isn't good enough after a few performances! In a nutshell that's where I'm coming from here.

Hello brum, couldn't agree more, I really do feel once the new players do bed we will be alright, last season was an over achievement in my eyes and Lampard should be given time to bed in his recruits and we shall be fine.

Hi LO, hope you're well.

The new signings have to be given time to acclimatise to their new surroundings and team mates though.

I don't see us challenging for major honours this season, from my stand point we've invested in a project that will take time to bear fruit (just as Liverpool have [unfortunately]).

Rome wasn't built in a day!
