I can't believe what I'm reading about Pogba on this board. Rival fans laugh at us; they keep saying "you guys don't seem to know how good Pogba is or how incompetent Ole is". Before you condemn Pogba, did you ask yourselves whether he is well used by the manger ? Did you ask yourselves why in Ole's early days Pogba was scoring goals and assisting and dominating games, but not now ? Do you think we could finish third last season without Pogba's major contribution ? Can you tell me why Rashford can play ten extremely poor games in a row and get away with it, and why Maguire can keep making silly and costly mistakes and get away with, while Pogba is slated for playing two ordinary games (in which not a single United player was good) after being infected by Coronavirus ? Do you have any idea how long it takes to fully recover from Coronavirus (I do, by the way). This board is turning into an unhappy forum of ignorance, bigotry and xenophobia. Shame on you, Pogba haters.

That's beacuase its dawned on him/them that no-one is willing to pay what it would take to get him. Even before COVID Real Madrid weren't willing to. Post COVID there is absolutely no chance. So why wouldn't they want a new and improved contract?

yeah, but this is partly my point elvis, that in some people's eyes he can do literally nothing right. agent says he wants to leave, fault his effort. agent says he wants to stay, complain that it's only because no one will pay up for him.
if a player really wants to leave, he will leave, and there are all sorts of ways he/his agent can engineer that. "pogba's only here because no one will buy him" - you can say that about pretty much every decent player in the PL. you think sterling would turn down barca? you think mane grew up dreaming of living in liverpool, or madrid? you think aguero wouldn't return to a top club in spain if given the chance?
christ, DDG only stayed because a) us and madrid conspired to f@ck up his transfer and b) we decided to pay him more than any other player in the PL, or any other GK in the world. yet with all the flak he rightfully gets, no one ever says "he just can't be bothered".

And I find the De Gea comparison pointless. You can't really tell if a keeper is out of form/low on confidence or just not trying. But you can tell the difference with an outfield player.

well why is he still here then? why hasn't he downed tools, skipped training, gone on strike? why hasn't railoa thrown around a few chairs to get him his move? why isn't raiola mouthing off every single day, talking about him being a slave etc?
and before you say covid, why wasn't he sold last summer? or in january?
and how do you tell the difference? running around a lot? what does he do that can be explained by him not wanting to be here, that cannot be equally explained by him being unfit?

It's simple. No one is willing to pay what it would take to sign him. I think we all know he wants to go to Real. It's also obvious that Zidane would like him. But the club won't pay the money.

maybe true, maybe not, but even if true, the fault lies 100% with the club then, they should have sorted this out 6-12 months ago.
and there were reports before the signings of all of fred, sanchez, and maguire, that they would prefer to go to city rather than united. didn't stop us signing them. so do fred and maguire "want" to be at united, or are they just happy enough for now?

Hard to know without knowing what Real offered. If they were taking the p¡ss with their bid the club can't accept it.
As for Fred, Maguire and Sanchez, I don't recall any concrete reports that they want to go to City. Either way, I don't think their commitment on the field is/was in question. The quality of their performances is a different matter.
