Now that the dust has settled on

a really decent result last night. Even I suspected Spurs may not get through this tie with the squad players, they rarely turn up as a unit. But last night the boys raised their game, and deservedly won in the end, albeit on pens. Yes Chelsea had a lot of the ball first half, but other than the goal, it was just meaningless pass, pass, pass go nowhere stuff, the sort of things Spurs were doing a few months back. Once Spurs upped the pace and intensity second half, Chelsea were not in the game, and I doubt Hugo Lloris has had an easier game all season. I think the Europa League minnows gave Spurs more problems than Chelsea.

Anyway that is the halfway point through the week of hell, and a days rest today, then back to it tomorrow. At least quite a lot of the players will have had a rest, so should be up for it tomorrow, which I suspect will actually be a harder game than last night, I may be wrong, as I don`t know that much about the opposition. But I am sure they themselves will want to make the group stages of the Europa as much as Spurs do, so will be a tough game in my opinion.

I was very impressed with both our full backs last night, Reguillon started off a little nervous, but really grew into the game as it went on, and I was hugely impressed with him. Davies must have been looking on knowing his days are surely numbered as a regular now. Serge never put a foot wrong, and was always a big danger to the Chelsea defence with his rampaging raids down the right. Lamela played well, and Tanganga considering he hasn`t played any football for months did really well. Dier rushing off the pitch to go and have a poo amused me, especially with Jose rushing off after him. The negatives were few, but I didn`t see much from both Jedson and Bergwijn to show that either is really up to the quality required, but they are both young, so let`s see how they progress. Suspect Jedson may be move on.

Anyway good to be a Spurs fan this morning, finally a penalty shootout won when it matters. Beating Chelsea is always good, so am a pretty happy bunny, all things considering, and VAR nowhere to be seen tonight, and what a difference that made to the watching.

I can have a day`s rest now. Before back to business again tomorrow.

Beginning to warm to Dier, who is gradually getting there, with a nice touch at the end, consoling Mount.

Yes nice touch. Question! Did Dier wash his hands after going to the toilet. If he didn't, he wiped them on Mount's shirt LOL.

I stand corrected. Yesterday I posted real concerns for this game, given the potential reserve team, but to be fair, after struggling through the first 25/30 minutes, with what was still a 3/4 second choice team, they really did us proud.

Unusual ( by great ) to not bottle a penalty shootout.

Our new left back does look the business. Instead of the usual 2/3 games to get used to Spurs and the PL, he did it in about half an hour.

Lamela - definitely one of his better games.

And the final enjoyment of the night.......to see Lampard's face at the end. Priceless.

Good night for Spurs but for me, a much bigger game for us on Thursday. Let's hope we put in an even better shift and nail down a place in the group stage.

Yes I am quite liking Dier right now, he is doing all the right things, and looks ready to really fight for the cause. He could be our Henderson, not blessed with great talent, but absolutely committed. That is all you can ask. He is definitely winning me over.

#metoo but I guess with all players he will have his moments which will cost us a goal. Just needs to keep on learning and improving.

Give our squad another quality CF, quality CB, Eriksen back or similar and an upgrade on Sissoko, and we would have a squad capable of challenging for the PL.

Billy, that`s if we could get the refs onside like Liverpool do.
