By way of preface, on Deadline Day we tend to... uh, temporarily suspend our normally rigorous sense of disbelief about most transfer rumors. We do this for a couple of reasons — 1) because wild stuff can happen and 2) because it’s just so gosh darn FUN.
Take this one. Football Insider is reporting today that Tottenham Hotspur has been offered an opportunity to re-sign none other than Christian Eriksen on loan for the remainder of the season. This rumor is incredible and likely isn’t accurate. I am HERE for it.
The Christian Eriksen transfer saga was one of the biggest stories of last season and was told not only through numerous articles but was also touched upon in the Amazon “All Or Nothing" documentary that came out this summer. Now, if this story is to be believed (and probably you shouldn’t do so) Eriksen has been deemed a high price failure, with Inter needing to offload him to reduce their wage bill in a COVID-19 stretched season.
Well, well now......ain't that some rumor!
