Transfer Deadline Day Build-Up Excitement

Ins? Outs? Shake it all abouts? What business will be concluded by kick-off on Friday?

Current rumours:

Ins:
Centre-forward.
Keinan Davis loan from Villa, probably dependent on Villa signing at least one new striker, maybe Josh King who is also linked with West Ham.
Charlie Austin. Reputedly a phone call from His Wayneness of Rooney has failed to convince the bleached-blonde tattooed fat builder to abandon the leafy suburbs of West Bromwich where he prefers to remain and collect vast sums of money for doing absolutely nothing.
Tyler Roberts: Down the pecking order at Leeds, might be a loan deal that depends on a certain wonderkid moving the other way (see below).

Wide:
Harry Wilson. Rams legend available on loan with many clubs interested. Do we need another wide player or would he be too good to turn down?

Defence:
Jake Clarke-Salter, centre back loan from Chelsea. Any need?
Baba Rahman: left back loan from Chelsea.Might allow Buchanan to go out somewhere to get experience?
Jordan Obita: former Reading player now free agent left back.

Outs:

Louie Sibley: Leeds sniffing round, may be a smokescreen to persuade Norwich that Cantwell is not their only target in that position.
Florian Josefzoon: Rotherham said to be prepared to take on the player said to be “brilliant in training" but not quite as good on match day.

Anyone heard any others? Who do we want and what do we need to challenge for promotion/avoid the drop?

I’d say that’s DET 1-0 Desi’s mate.

Hoping for a late equaliser ....

Agreed. Don't forget I did predict we'll get Colin and no one else.

Based on our current forward options CKR has to be third choice. If Marriott is allowed to leave and Conor Wickham arrives i'd be happier with that. ( Seems unlikely)

I agree with what was mentioned above, we wait until Jan and make another attempt for the Turkish striker.

Theme certainly is Turkish at present. Cocu managed in Turkey, linked to player from Fenerbache last season and now linked to Dursan.

Right, I know what I'm ordering from Deliveroo!!!!

Adios Marriott - see him banging the goals in if he has a strike partner at Wednesday.

Conor Wickham to come in?

Wickham would be a big upgrade on Richards IMO

Well so far we're in a much weaker position than when the season started.

If we're going with a Turkish theme then Boris Johnson up front would be an improvement on Richards.

I didn't think it was possible we'd find ourselves in a position where Zoon left, and we were weaker with the replacement(s) but here we are.

On current showing I might have to revise my prediction of top 2 (which was based on us bringing in some good players to help the youth) to a relegation scrap again.

I think a top 2 finish was very optimistic 9earchange, but I do like your belief, think we need more of that on the forum!

The injuries to our squad haven't helped our cause as the results have indicated. It is frustrating that we have (or had) a decent striker in Marriott but needed to play to his strengths to get the best out of him. Argument to this could be both Frank and Cocu have questioned his attitude in public.

Whether we're pinning our hopes on Bobby Duncan ( Waghorn, CKR and Duncan) or somebody else we'll have to wait and see once the transfer window slams shut.

Anyone know what the rules are now regarding signing out of contract players after this transfer window?

Some interesting deals elsewhere - Douglas to Blackburn. Blackburn this season's darkhorse for promotion?

Flint heading to Wednesday possibly. For a club that's broke, had a transfer embargo and been hit with a -12 point deduction they're not doing too bad with their acquisitions.

Cardiff possibly snaring Wilson (Sorry FinlandRam, I was informed our bid was accepted)

Knockaert to Forest - wonder if he'll have the same impact as he did at Brighton under Hughton?

Talk of Borini returning to to Swans - who was another on my list of possible CF targets to consider, but I don't think he's a 'target man.' If he can perform anything like he did last time they'd be another team to consider for play-off positions possibly?

Just to put the Richards thing into perspective, he's been a flop in the same league we signed Emanuel Villa from. Emanuel Villa who was considered so good his manager threatened to resign when he was sold to us, Emanuel Villa who then went back to Mexcio and continued to dominate the league, scoring roughly every other game consistently over several seasons.

This is a ludicrous signing, anybody would think it was April 1st. He's not one for the future, he's not one the kids are going to learn from, he's been found out at every level he's played. I'm struggling to find any positives.
