Project Big Picture now just a snapshot

Was anyone in favour of it? Could it have been different?

Is football at risk?

If they targeted abolishing International breaks during the season (another one in 3 weeks) I would support them.

It is completely beyond me why the clubs in the Prem and other European leagues don't come together and refuse to release their employees, especially during this congested season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why? Then there’s be no qualifying so no World Cup. I’d I’d much rather watch the wc or euros than the premier league. The pl dosent even come close.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All International games to be played Sping/Summer.

I love an England game down the pub as much as the next man but Spurs are my priority and always will be.

Fair enough.

Just bundle the games together at the end of the season. Or on the middle. Absolutely stupid having them Avery few weeks, specially with Covid.

There has to be other ways of protecting the lower league clubs rather than giving all of the power to the top clubs to rule the league.

If they want a Super League, go do it with the rest of the powerhouses around Europe.

The money for the EFL clubs was important as was the money for the women’s game. There was merit to ending the parachute payments and spreading the money more equally was good too. £20 away tickets also a good touch.

But the price for all that was too much to pay I guess. I was in favour of the deal simply to keep dozens of clubs alive but as it turns out they got some money anyway so hopefully everyone’s a winner. Except the douche Americans who own Liverpool and United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some money being the appropriate way of putting it.
The £250,000,000 initial payment was to keep clubs heads above water, and the 25% share of the TV deal would have seen around £570,000,000 a year going into lower league football.
The alternative proposal off 50 odd million, made up of loans and grants sounds a bit p 155 poor in comparison.

The Community Shield needs to go.

I'm not quite understanding the hate from some people about the EFL Cup. It's a great way to give competitive games to youth and reserve players if they can't/won't go out on loan, and it's another chance to win a trophy.

Yes and its a good trophy for a PL club outside of the top 6

That more often than not is won by one of the top 6 anyway as it is the chance for a trophy.

The problem with the league cup is that a team with the best squad will probably always win it now as the other sides who could beat them will also play their squad in games. City keep winning as their squad is deep enough to beat most sides first 11. So it’s less competitive than the FA cup.

I don't mind the lc and of course it can offer an unexpected windfall for lower divisional clubs.

Because most top teams shuffle their 11 its a bit of a free hit as very little is made of it when theres an upset. We went out to Colchester on pens last season and the press/social media gave us a hard time for a day or so then it was back to the Prem. Had it been the FA Cup I'm sure it would of been regarded as a much bigger deal.

For most clubs the Prem title is out of reach so the 2 domestic cups offer a bit of hope that a trophy is not beyond them. Although unfortunately staying up is financially far more important.
