Kepa - 3 - when is mendy back? Didn't have much to do but didn't do it very well. Didn't have much chance with the first, played into danger with the 2nd by zouma but massively flapped at it. Should he doing much better with the 3rd.
Azpi- 5-very slack performance, kept playing other players into danger because he wasn't confident on the ball with being pressed so much. I get why he started with no Silva with his leadership but James needs to play.
AC- 6- didn't think he actually had too bad of a game all things considered but he just doesn't suit the Premier league.
Zouma - 4- shocking defending for their 2nd, great physical attributes but needs a strong head at the side of him or he just gets lost in games.
Chilwell--6- great first half, constant outlet going forward, stook to his job 2nd half well.
Kante-5 - incredibly sloppy first half by his standards, improved slightly 2nd half but our midfield was completely bypassed by Southampton.
Jorginho- 6- very good first half, dictating play well and set up werner with a great ball, like kante got completely bypassed 2nd half.
Mount-5- quiet game and I think he needs abit of time out of the team. Good player and I like him but he's not an attacker and basically started every game.
Pulusic-6- can tell he's not played and he looked rusty but the glimpses of class were there to see. Lovely ball to werner for our third goal.
Havertz- 6- some lovely touches and turns but he still needs to operate abit quicker, caught out a couple of times trying to abit too much. Cold as ice infront of goal though and I'm really liking what I'm seeing.
Werner - 7- great first half, lovely goals and movement. That is the timo we bought and playing up front finally we should get to see it. Didn't really get much to work with 2nd half but nice ball for havertz. MOTM by a long way

Chilwell' crosses from open play and set-pieces are ridiculously accurate (Leicester fans would have you believe otherwise), difference-maker!
Also legitimately astute at wriggling his way out of the opposition press, usually with a nice (subtle) skill or just some good old acceleration.
The antithesis of Alonso.
Against sides like Southampton that will play with high-line, yeah you would want Werner making those runs behind up top. Ideal for him.
The way Werner carved the opening for his first goal with the dummy was exceptional.
Against sides like Palace that deploy low-block and deny space, would have been uphill battle for him...up top.

why people insist on saying Zouma is our best defender I will never understand. As a no nonsense defender, he might well be worth something to someone, but as a ball playing defender, he has little worth. Clumsy, tactically inept and seemingly always out of position in our formation.
Kante used to be a game changer but he just seems to be running around like a headless chicken. Or play him as a defensive midfield shield or sell him, he's technically not good enough to be a creative player.
Jorginho is a technical player but far too slow to play in front of back four in the premier league. He offers no physical or defensive presence.

I'm slowly coming round to this way of thinking. It's causing the midfield to be unbalanced and in turn putting extra pressure on an already shaky defence!

His attitude was "fůck it, I'll leave them to it", goal was avoidable if he had made an effort to get back.

Same via him being our best defender, I don't understand that. I like him, but if he's our best that tells a sad story.
Provided he's cool with it, don't see why he wouldn't be, he's the epitome of a great backup. Has tons of weaknesses, but at the same time you wouldn't be discouraged if he had to play due to injuries or fitness issues for the main CB's.

Totally saw that mf - problem with all our defenders, they don't bust a gut to be first to the ball. Can't imagine Cahill, JT, Ashley lolloping back to get a good view of a goal being scored. And Kepa could easily have dealt with that situation with a determined dive and grab at the player's feet.
