PL title

5/6 games into the season and We are none the wiser about who is going to win this. None of the top teams look convincing and only Everton seem to have any sort of consistency - although they were incredibly lucky to get the draw with Liverpool.

Liverpool are obviously the team to beat, but getting pumped by Villa showed a weakness of balls over the top when their attack is not pressing, and the loss of VVD is huge.

City seem lost and unable to show any consistency. United are garbage. Lampard won’t win the title and Spurs can’t defend. Arsenal will get beat by most of the rest of the top 6 and generally drop too many points away from home.

Could we have another year like when Leicester won it, an unfancied team putting a run together whilst the bigger sides are in a flux?

Have to use last season as a baseline.

I don’t think Spurs will bridge the 40pt gap. Do you?

Do we see Spurs getting more than 80 points? Not a chance.

Do we see Liverpool getting less than 85 points? Probably not.

Will Spurs pick up 20 more points than last season.. maybe.

Will Liverpool drop 20 more points than last season? Unlikely.

That is what is needed for a 40point swing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a stupid way of thinking of things? Is this season same as last? No
Every season is different and there is no way this season will see the differences we saw the season. No way. There won't need to be a 40 points swing because the difference won't be the same,

New season brings with it new challenges, like Van Dyke out injured, who else from Liverpool will be out?

You can't base it on last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course you can.

Points is literally how we decide who the better performing team is.

So we were almost twice as good as you last season. Have you improved enough to catch us? No you haven't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I would definitely rank Spurs better than Liverpool now. Better squad allround. Last year Liverpool were blowing teams away, this year, they are just about limping over the line in most matches.

You cannot compare this season to last season. Spurs have massively improved their squad, and they have their two best players back in harmony, when they were missing for large parts of last season. I don`t see any improvement in the Liverpool team, in fact the front three look pretty blunted right now, although Mane is still a handful.

I am not expecting Spurs to lose more than three or four games max. So Spurs should easily hit 90 points plus.

I'm all for optimism and i even like to see opposition fans bigging up their team, let's face it we all want our clubs to overachieve.

I'm sure i've done it many times myself in the past.

But there's a massive difference between overegging the pudding and making scrambled eggs.

To suggest that spurs - who are a really good football team - are suddenly better than Liverpool - Who are in with a shout of being the best team in the world - isn't bigging up your team, it's just talking out of your rrse.

Head scrambled, you might say.
