I do believe that's where the idiom dead end come from.

Dundee Utd won the Championship last season and we never got a positive article

Eye bleeding stuff on Friday. Thankfully the fog in the second half made it almost impossible to see what was going on, so I was able to concentrate on the moretti I was drinking to numb the pain. Every team seems to break a bad run against us - although we beat County they managed to score their first goal in umpteen hours of football, Friday was St Mirren’s first point for about seven years or something. Who do we have next in the league? Hamilton... Anyway, mon the terrors.

The thing is, if Mellon was that worried about the defence why did he give Connolly a new two-year deal instead of casting him into the sea?

I didn't see the game but I noticed on the United Twitter that in the 20 minutes McMullan was on he created 3 chances. Likely got a stern talking to about attacking football after the game but it would be nice to see more of him.
