SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASNT SEEN IT.

I'll need to read the books as the final season kinda lost me with the whole gateway/wormhole thing and the ancient ship.

I sort of picked up on the fact the protomolecule is some ancient artificial material created by some super intelligent beings so that they could link up different areas of space, but I just didn't understand how or why it all came about. Hoping the books offer a bit more detail.

We're assuming we haven't destroyed our own planet before we start colonising anywhere else 😂
