Ole Overreaction

The abuse directed at Ole on this site in the last 24 hours has been beyond disgusting. Never in my life have I seen such an overreaction to a defeat, nor such personal remarks about a manager. Somebody has to speak up and that somebody is me. People are quick to forget how brilliant Ole's management was last year when he finished third and reached the three semi finals.

If you look at the bulk of the players Ole inherited, he's improved all of them bar maybe Pogba. Matic, Fred, McTominay, Rashford, Martial, Lindelof, Shaw, Greenwood and even Bruno are all far, far better under his tutelage than before. I'm seeing people slate Martial and Rashford? Are you mad?? They scored about 40++ goals between them last year, the same people weren't aiming personal abuse at Ole then were they?

Throughout a season a team's form can and will dip. It happened at City last year and Liverpool at times too. Did Pep and Klopp have horrendous abuse on this site about it? No. Why is it only Ole who is targeted? He took over a team and club that were in disarray and has worked miracles so far.

United aren't even that far off of the top of the league when you consider the game in hand. This season has a hell of a long way to go yet, just look at the form of Ole's United after lockdown for example. They were probably the countries form team for God's sake. In times like these people need to stop with the silly chaos. It's time for unity and the fans to get behind the manager. Simple.

Would you appoint a supply PE teacher as an interim Manager/Coach if you owned a PL Club?

No, but you probably would.

I love Ole, and I love the journey we're on. How can you not feel like you've got your club back after last Saturday, and since when was losing to PSG a sackable offense?

The only thing I don't like about OGS is his disrespect for Romero.

Any other manager who keeps seeing De Gea concede game after game from nearly every shot against us and make it easy would play a goalkeeper that saves it. Our worst goalkeeper is De Gea but he gets to play even if injured.

De Gea usually most games saves 2 shots. This season he is struggling to save more than 1 shot in games.

This season we conceded 16 league goals from 33 shots on target and scored 16 league goals from 47 shots on target. Most top teams score at a higher rate than they concede. We had 120 shots for and 98 against.

PSG scored 4 goals and had 9 shots on target against us. We scored 3 goals against them and had 9 shots on target against them and you could say Navas saves were from bigger chances in both games. If De Gea was in goal for PSG you could expect us to have scored another 3 more from those chances.

Romero has always been by far a better shot stopper than De Gea and it never has been close. Romero gets constantly overlooked as he is supposedly bad with his feet but De Gea has done the most howlers of anyone that has cost us goals while Romero rarely has let us down.

OGS must be thinking the club are paying him so much so I have to play De Gea even if injured.

De Gea is so predictable that I even said against Sevilla we are near guaranteed to concede 2 goals from 3 shots on target before the game started and guess what that happened. Romero most likely would have saved both easily. De Gea made it look impossible. Just like the PSG goals from close range he made it so they have an open goal to aim at instead of closing the goal.

I reckon if we swapped the Sevilla goalkeeper around with Man Utd keeper we would have won that game 6-0.

In Spain De Gea has similar stats, concedes nearly every shot on goal so much so he is known as the worst keeper in Spanish and heck even tournament history to play for them at a tournament.

LVG was knocked out the CL in 15/16 season, Man Utd attempted 83 shots and scored 7 goals and allowed 41 shots and conceded 7 goals.

De Gea came in 2011 and Man Utd struggled in europe ever since. Romero plays 2016/17 Europa League campaign and we win it. We only lose when the other keepers played in Grant and De Gea and surprise surprise both keepers struggled to save a shot.

Its like Chelsea when they had Kepa, they didn't concede many shots but because they had a goalkeeper that concedes nearly every time a team shoots on goal you think there defence is bad. De Gea when he faces penalties nearly is a guranteed goal against these days as he lets them slot the ball in and reacts really slow.

People blaming Martial for missing chances but a top keeper makes it much harder for PSG to score. He is the one that allowed Bournemouth to score from an impossible angle. He concedes from freekicks like they are penalties against us. You see when Romero plays he catches or parries shots away easily that De Gea doesn't get with 5yds to.

1st goal tough to save but his only save straight at him and a freekick he was too slow to react. Reminds me of Payet freekick where most goalkeepers would save it but De Gea lets it in. De Gea conceded from 2 freekicks in his last 3 games and both times he was slow to react and positionally all wrong at the end.

De Gea cost us top 4 due to embarrassing goalkeeping.

When you think of it we drawn 2 and won 8 of our last 10 away games and both draws we conceded from a De Gea howler. I think even Kepa would have not conceded in those 2 games we conceded.

Keane laying into De Gea consistently due to his errors.

When you think of it De Gea also even if slightly fouled against Everton at OT was responsible for conceding that goal in a game Everton didn't create a chance. De Gea errors cost us about 15 points a season.

Time to sell De Gea and Pogba. 2 of the highest paid but contribute very little for last few years.

Last season Henderson played 36 games and conceded 33 league goals. De Gea played 38 games and conceded 36 goals. Henderson had a lot more to do and Sheffield United conceded 13.04 goals less than expected. Look at Sheffield United now.

Ramsdale despite coming in Sheffield United have concedeed 0.91 goals less than expected. Man Utd have conceded 4.41 more than expected so Sheffield United even downgrading keepers are still doing miles better than Man Utd in that regard.
