Golf commentary certainly won’t be the same with his loss. I loved Peter Alliss’s summaries post-Open. He was in the same league as Brian “Johnners” Johnston & Henry Blofeld. They could all paint a picture of the proceedings in their respective sports.

Gutted. Thought he sounded a bit different commentating on the masters recently. Although it was commentating from home. Glad we got to hear him one last time.
