Well after he's been offered a 2.5 year contract I think this deserves to be a new topic instead of comments tagged on the end of the last article.
For me, after I wanted someone like Paul Cooke it seems like a good appointment as Wayne's galvanised the team of late.
What's happening with the take over ? Well nothing it seems atm although Mel as a Multi millionaire in his own right still owns the club so I doubt we'll end up falling foul of administration.
We have 3 players allegedly leaving the club next week and in need of reinforcements.
I truly hope though that he (Wayne) does not do a Frank Lampard on us and B off as soon as a better offer comes along.
Onward to Rotherham...
Wayne Rooney's Derby County

Rooney would not be heading to Man United in the same fashion that Lampard did to Chelsea. Like Scouse has said it'll most likely be Everton in a couple of seasons time (possibly?) when Ancelotti's time is over.
The links to Celtic should Lennon go are slightly concerning but I'm not entirely sure he'd want to go there without the family. For that reason I can't see it happening.

Back to your article Terry, I too wanted Paul Cook due to his experience and was reluctant to see a novice (with a big football pedigree) given the role when experience at this division seemed critical.
Rooney has proven the doubters wrong, adding Judas Mac to the ranks appears to be a good blend of raw manager and experienced coach.
Depending when the 'sheetshow' at Derby resolves itself I would be very happy to see Mike Phelan given a role at the club.
In other news, Ibe's brief spell at Derby appears to be over - given there's a still an investigation being conducting implies
* Either there's some bone idle members of staff not carrying our their duties ( which comes as little surprise)
* Matter is much more serious.
Some of the things mentioned on here have included overslept and missed training and more laughable that he sold drugs to the Academy.
Rumours only but it has been said that he has been found with cocaine in his body which is why he's excluded from the first team at present. More worryingly is the fact another player has been involved - one spiralling out of control (if true) Tom Lawrence.
I emphasis on the word rumours at this stage but should TL be excluded tomorrow (given he only had a slight injury) but wasn't included at all around the time of Ibe's misdemeanor there might be more 'substance' to the story - deliberate pun!
Back to Rooney - if this means he will b retiring from football then I am gutted. Living down south now I didn't get to see many Derby matches (prior) to pandemic and would have loved to have seen him play in a Derby shirt. Had hopes he'd come on second half for a couple of cameo roles but it might well be best to call quits given he really did struggle at times.
Thanks for the performances last season Rooney the player, you were absolute fantastic to watch. Good luck to Rooney the manager.
Everton wonder kid at 17 with that belter vs Arsenal to Derby County manager.
Funny ol' world!

I'm relieved.
Surely he would not be taking the job in the knowledge that his best players, i.e. those that he has picked in recent matches, would have to be shipped out to raise cash for the club

In case you don't already know Desi, the official line is he's retired as a player.

Like Ang I hope that this means all is not going to go pear-shaped behind the scenes. Like most of us I was dead against Rooney becoming manager a few weeks ago and wanted Cook or Cooper but right now I am pleased. Rarely have I got close to being right about what the future might hold when a Derby manager has been appointed though.

Not at last Spart. I freely admit I know very little about anything, least of all football.

Not sure about Roo and Ro would have liked Phelan as number 2 or Big Daz as I think he could bring some motivation to the team, but can't see either coming to be understudy to two newbies.
SM to offer guidance. It might work. I quite like Roo seems to say the right things, think he's smarter than people give him credit for. However, think a large upturn in performance goes down to Bielik getting fitter.
All the best though Wayne, I hope you have investment instead of bankruptcy to help you out too. Still not convinced about the takeover, at the very least they're not very efficient. Maybe there's another buyer in the works.
