Was doing the Liverpool United XI thing on BBC and this is what I came up with:

I could only fit 3 United players in and two of them (Bailly and Rashord) would easily have been replaced with Liverpool players. I guess Pogba could come in for Wijnaldum but that's about it. Only Bruno a shoe in.
I know Van Dijk is missing but on paper we really should be second best here...

I dont think anyone is saying your players are mediocre, im certainly not anyway. All im pointing out is that on paper, which is all combined 11s are really, liverpool have better players in most areas of the pitch.
Fair enough on the ole front though. He takes a faor wedge of stick of opposition fans, ours included so if he comes out on top, or even close to it come may a lot including myself, will have to hold our hands up.

That’s precisely my point. I’m trying to explain why comparing now with 08-09 isn’t as easy as it seems. If our players and our manager were as mediocre as a lot of people think, then I doubt we’d be in the position we are. That, I believe, was Vidicschin’s point.
