Answer my question first. Why didn't Klopp send the Academy lads to Denmark?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because the coaching staff know far more than a Twitter warrior like yourself, on who needs minutes on the pitch at any particular time.

Also, it’s a completely pointless exercise sending just academy players across to play. To get any benefit from it they need some experience by them in order to learn anything from it.

Is that even allowed anyway. Do we not have a squad of like 23 for the champs league? Given if u look back to that particular time we had about 8 or 9 1st teamers out someone from the 1st team had to play.

You are allowed unlimited Under 23's I think so it is certainly feasible that he could have sent a load of kids to reduce the damage to our first team squad

I'll take your word on that, no sure myself. The jota one has been a sickener as he has been far longer than I think anyone anticipated and yes with hindsight he shouldnt have played.

Not sure what klopp can do about the cb issues though. Its insane and to dismiss with "all teams have injuries" doesnt make it any less of a problem. Ive never understood this argument. Nobody is looking for sympathy, I dont want people to say "poor liverpool" but its just a fact it has been detrimental to our campaign.

We should have signed someone on jan 1st. I was banging that drum way back in october, but what has come since then, matip out for season fabinho out, davies and now hendo is just a joke.

Players outside of the main CL squad need to have been at the club for a minimum of two years to be eligible to be included in squad ‘b’ and thus be able to play in the CL.

I’m not going to go through the squad checking to see how long each academy player has been here, but basically your opinion that we should have sent over the squad of academy players is without any factual knowledge that you have on who was eligible and who wasn’t. Just a load of unchecked assumptions.

Agree, there is clearly data we don’t have access to which could explain why certain players participated in games which on the face or it you would have expected juniors to play.
That said there are elements of team management which are open to criticism or at least scrutiny. The most frustrating aspect to this is the wailing and backlash, the accusations of treachery, suggesting we can’t question decisions else our manager would be ‘walking alone’ when this happens.
You can scrutinise, debate, question, even complain about the club hierarchy and players without the need for an over-emotional response from a few die-hards.

It remains there are still more positives over the last three seasons than negatives, but the prolonged decline we’ve seen almost to before this season started is predominant in most minds thus the general malaise.

L40TL and 77*...19 are not Liverpool fans. I still think GB is a wum and not a Liverpool fan either.
