Scottish Cup

So the fixture dates have been announced which are;

Scottish Cup 2020/21 Fixture Dates
Second Round: Tuesday, 23 March
Third Round: Saturday, 3 April
Fourth Round: Saturday, 17 April
Fifth Round: Saturday, 24 April
Semi-Finals: Saturday, 8 & Sunday, 9 May
Final: Saturday, 22 May

Don't know how I feel about it being played.....gives me the absolute fear that if we won it then Celtic (who have plenty of form for this) would then use it as an excuse to go for the cheap option and give Kennedy the job full time.

Hopefully goes off well
Just a tad concerned around the “smaller” sides and testing etc. Also been a long time since some of them had a game

You just know there will be cancellations all over the place.

Good chance to win the same amount of trophies as Rangers this season.

Considering their full team is up for the ballon d’or, some feat that.

That door is air tight.

I think they are going to end up reducing those fixtures.

After being given the go ahead to resume apparently there are a number of League 1 and 2 clubs where government support and furlough is actually saving them money and the complaining at the government was a bit of a bluff.

There is no way i can see those clubs coming out of furlough and paying for testing for a cup tie or 2.

I agree, I suspect some have survived well with furlough but now face the reality of fixtures with no revenue. It may be a tough time over the next 4 months for some of them until we start the new season

I think they have proposed cutting to finishing home and away with a short split to determine promotion and relegation so some teams will play 22, some 18 then some extra play offs.

Will be the usual, that will then get approved only for a few who were again bluffing to say they cant do it.

Makes sense to do the home and away. the split bit seems a bit daft though

I've said it before and I know it won't happen but we have a real opportunity to shake up our game.

44 teams is far too much for a country of our size to have as a professional set up. Top 2 divisions then a regional pyramid. That way the lower league teams other than for cup ties do not have to travel the length and breadth of the country for matches. They can be within their financial capabilities.

Two divisions whether it is a 12 and 16 or whatever pretty much covers the professional teams plus a few part time clubs. Te pyramid which can then include the Junior premier leagues offers real pathway from bottom to top.

Two professional leagues with national conferences in my opinion will work better. It won't make us a richer league by any means.
