The luck of the VAR

Fulham and West Brom will be fuming after two ridiculous VAR decisions tonight and rightly so. Fulham in particular were denied a goal which, prior to VAR, was 100% a goal. Not any more.
We have been victims of VAR too, with Paddy's goal against Palace denied, but the football gods smiled on us tonight. Tonight's results mean that even if we lose every game from hereon in, they need to average more than a point a game catch us.
Even in our worst nightmares, this cannot be possible, can it?
Can it?
Surely the most desperately pessimistic among us can relax and enjoy twelve more games to show the league what we are made of. Victories against Sucm and Liverpool on our skating rink will be a perfect way to top off a wonderful return to this league.

think id rather b!tch about the refs than var.
var calls things that don't effect the play at all or things that give the offending team no advantage.i would much rather go back to the day when we would complain about the ref.
seems better to me to blame human error and be done with it then trying to figure out way var even bothers with some of the sh!t it gives.
var has made the game worse imo for many reasons.

Fulham have played some good stuff all season they just haven’t been able to turn into results. Brighton even more so.

Everton and to a lesser degree spurs have frequently got results in games where their play maybe didn’t warrant it. Often this is just down to quality in key areas at both ends of the pitch and sometimes it’s a bit of lady Luck.

Is it Fulham that missed a good amount of penalties?

That’s because we (Spurs) have massively underperformed. I mean we have seen Wolves come up and qualify for Europe and Sheff United just miss out - both are floundering this season. Leeds have done alright though - they do look like they are running out of steam now like all Bielsa sides

Another Karen regurgitating rubbish!

It's a myth that we run out of steam. Before lockdown last season we were flying. The season before we just ran out of luck and made some bad decisions on the pitch.

Looking at Spurs last night I'd say your team looked like one devoid of ideas and energy. Fulham pummelled you at times.

Yep but we won. We are obviously very tired as we have played more games than any other team in European top flight football this season, so there are going to be games where we just dig in to secure the result.

Anyone who can read and understands stats knows Bielsa sides run out of steam. 3 wins from your 12 games max

They had a run earlier on in the season where they missed a few... an injury time panenka fail springs to mind - missed cost them a few points I think.

"Bielsa sides run out of steam. 3 wins from your 12 games max"

OK Statto - statistics - last season won EFL Championship by 10 clear points - 46 games.

This season key injuries to 3 of the 4 'better' quality intake i.e. non championship players.

No our team has done brilliant in the circumstances.

We don't care how many we win now as long as we don't finish lower than 17th.

You see LUFC has real fans not glory seekers.

this run out of steam crap is brought up at every bad run we have.
it couldn't possibly be that we are a newly promoted team. i wonder what spurs excuse is. oh yeah they had to play too many games. sad.

It is funny the way the Premier league elite tell us about the good ol "Bielsa burn out", but don't say anything about the class of players that are giving as good as they get!..

Like Rev says, we brought 4 players in in closed season, about 100mill they cost, compared to the so called "top 6", that's peanuts, but we haven't had 1 game where they've all been on the pitch in the same game, and most of the time we've had at least 3 out at the same time!..

So, basically, that means its our Championship team that's done most of the work!..

Our so called better players will return, and Phillips can be added to the list, so, this season isn't a problem!..

For next season we'll bring more in, but I cant see us spending anything like the so called Super 6 of the Premier League, so, we'll have to rely on what is now happening and our club being run the way it should be, like a football club!..

Things have changed around Elland Road, and it can only get better!..

And as for VAR, we've had as much crap as anyone thrown at us, and there'll be more crap for many to come!..

3 wins out of our last 12 will be excellent imo. That's 44 points minimum (more if we get some draws) in our first season back. We've taken the game to EVERY team we've played and outplayed many of them.

If you like stats then look at the value and cost of our first team squad. Then come back and say we've done "alright"
