Next gen is just getting started, and PS5 owners are keen to explore the capabilities of their new console. One game on it's way is Returnal, By Housemarque.
Now I'm not particularly a fan of shooters, But I am a fan of Housemarque, A studio not too many will be familiar with, My first introduction to them was on the PS3 with a game called Resogun.
This was a chaotic colourful shooter, that harked back to some of the older classics like R-type. But much more frenetic, with so much going on, as you rotated around an alien world. It made it's mark, and I had a real blast with this game. Pun intended.
Now they have been given the chance of bringing their skills and experience to the fore with Returnal on the PS5. A much bolder programming challenge, which to me it looks like the best of Resogun, brought up to date with a modern 3rd person twist.

Graphics and gameplay look so slick on this, looking forward to playing it. Always enjoy sci if, alien type games. The concept of dying, restarting but the world changing each time is great, and the ps5 hardware and loading times will make it effortless.
Got to say, I was concerned that every single gameplay vid or still image I’ve seen so far was very dark, looked great but I like some variety I’m the landscapes, so seeing the sandstorm (which looks incredible) on this section pleased me.

I have been interested in this, probably won’t be paying £70 for it when likely be half that in a couple of months.

Next Gen is just getting started but I imagine much of 2021 will be a write off given the challenges to developers that Covid has created. I wouldn't be racing out to buy a next gen console at the moment given the dearth of new titles.

The price will stay the same though for the consoles for a good while yet, and trade in value for PS4's etc will only go down. If you can afford it it's worth the upgrade purely for some of the late last gen games to be played on the PS5. It's a much better experience if they're upgraded to 60fps or fully remastered.

It's a fair point Micheal. With the PS5 being backward compatible. It would make sense to make the switch and take advantage of the PS5's extra power.
Having said that, You will be lucky to find a PS5 at the moment.
