Old Trafford's Banners

Andy Mitten via Twitter: I asked Ole why MUFC away form is better than home. Interesting answer. He reckons it's partly down to red shirts on red banners around Old Trafford and said: "Some of the players have mentioned that split second decision, red shirts on red seats... we have tried to change that."

Ole's got a point or is he trying his best Klopp impersonation?

I think our positional play is the actual problem. Players should be occupying certain zones. That way if a player needs to play a quick no-look pass they know where their teammates are. But we are so bad at this, as players aren't disciplined enough.

Our team shape in possession is also detrimental to keeping the ball.

If this banner change works, it'll probably be psychological more than anything.

My first thought too, surely it would have been an issue that’s existed since fans started wearing replica kits.

Not that many United supporters at Old Trafford wear replica shirts and scalves. (Mainly the tourists who do). Not like they do to a man at clubs like Newcastle and Norwich where everybody seems to wear one rain or shine. And because its always raining and freezing in Manchester from October to April most who do also often have a jacket on at least.

LOL Lot of misunderstanding on this.

Its to do with the huge tarpaulins that are covering the seats atm as they are not in use. They are mainly uninterrupted canvases of solid red colour that are causing the players red shirts to get lost against these backgrounds. When the stands are full of people it's not an issue. United are changing them to black, apparently which you will notice tonight.

If there is any truth in this then I am sure United are not the only players who are having this problem.
