The Last of Us 2 PS5 upgrade.

The Last of Us 2 storyline proved hugely controversial, but it certainly carried TLOU DNA. Superb graphics, top voice acting and animation, coupled with graphic gameplay, which was well received by critics.

Well a new free to download PS5 patch has been released, offering higher resolution and 60fps, which is going to offer a nice boost.

i kinda thought the second one was shallow, pretentious and dull.

The first is a masterpiece, but each to their own

In a side note; anyone played evil within 2? It’s actually really, really good
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I downloaded EW1 for free via PS Now and thought it was pretty cool. I got stuck on this huge caaant of a boss in the village. I didn’t have the weapons to deal with him. Gave up and then weirdly took on the challenge of Dark Souls 3 which is facking masterpiece of a game. Yet to complete it though. I’m stuck on the final boss. I have some regrets on how I chose to level up my guy.

Have heard EW2 is much better than the first but quite difficult. I think that might be free on PS Now as well actually.
I’m currently playing AC Origins which I love. Playing it off the back of finishing Watchdogs:Legion which is a great game as well.

Yeah it’s much much better than the first. Honestly surprised it’s not been so popular because technically it’s excellent and it reminds me a bit of LOU in places. I suppose the grotesque creatures and horror out many off but it’s a very good game indeed. Story isn’t too bad either.

Yeah I do remember reading the reviews of it when it first came out. Just one of those games that slipped under the radar.

Still got Cyberpunk to play as well

Like I say each to their own, unfortunately as stunning to look at as TLOU2 is, I just didn’t get the narrative.

It reminded me of miserable disjointed version of Death Wish 😅

It was good in parts, but the amount of times I raised my eyebrows was far too much...

I can see why people love it I guess, but I won’t be playing it again, I will defo replay the first one if it gets remastered.

For me the first one was 9/10
The second 6.5 or maybe 7/10 at a push.

But glad you enjoyed it we are all different

TLOU series is all about the story, so if you don't like the story then chances are you won't like the game. This is how I felt about the second one.

The gameplay is nothing special in either game and the a.i especially in the first one was very comical, but people are more than willing to overlook those aspects because of the story and the first one was an amazing experience because of that.

Won't spoil anything about the second one, but like 1man said, it was pretentious and has split the fanbase (dare I say maybe even a 60-40 split in favour of disliking it). The first one for me now has been tainted due to what comes in the next edition.

5/10 from me.

Evil Within was pretty good if quite linear. The sequel was brilliant and I didn't want it to end.

EW2 can be quite hard initially, spend a fair amount of time in the town really listening out for enemies and trying to work out your best move.

I hate to say it but I agree with most of what you said there!

I felt the all the humour, magic and proper character development was stripped away and was replaced with an old school revenge story which took its self way way too seriously.

I cared about all the characters in the first, but in the second I managed to dislike just about all of them...
the gameplay was great and it was very good to look at, but I will never be playing that again.

I think a lot of dislike for the game might stem from the surprise early on but I do understand people’s gripes.

The first one has you more transfixed without doubt. You’re so behind the two of them and want them both to live and succeed. Tyke is right, the story is so powerful you just ignore any flaws that might pop up.

I’m tempted to play them back to back once I finish Assassins Creed Origins.

Yeh the 2nd is more thinking after the fact, I just cant get around how stupid the surprise was when it happened - a tiny bit of tweaking and you have a storyline better than the 1st imo.

As I said gameplay wise though is much much better than the first, love the new elements. I am also considering to go back soon on a harder level for sure as I feel there is still more it can give. Gorgeous game, interesting characters, and a deep look at how fooked people can get.
