Call me superstitious

...but I am worried about our new signing for the under 23's from Chelsea. First of all, as pointed out by a previous poster, his name is Bate, singular of lying, thieving, cheating tw@t. Who himself came from Chelsea.
Secondly, since when have we ever had a decent player from Chelsea? I'm thinking Blackman, Baker and Brown. The rest, with the notable exception of Tony Dorigo, have been duds.
Finally, notice a trend here? Surnames beginning with B. And we just paid 1.5 million for a Bate from Chelsea, a bunch of billionaire bast'ds who booted their way to FA Cup victory against. Forgive and forget my fat Irish @rse. BB would be turning in his grave.

We just don’t know. We can look at clips of him spraying it around, we can value the club he was at before us who wanted to keep him - no less that the CL winners and we can make comparisons with our history of Chelsea signings

But in there lies the point. You quickly moved past Dorigo. An absolute gem of a left back who was signed when the club was on an upward curve.

Some of these others you mentioned were loaned, some had injuries, some at a time when the club was failing

It looks a really classy signing for me. Someone we can stick in the u23 and develop in the mould we want. There is no pressure - he is a kid. He cost just over 1m. We cannot lose.

Hopefully we will see him in the midfield with Phillips in a few years - two English lads in the heart of our team

Interesting point about him costing £1.5m. He's 18, same age as Jack Clarke was when he transferred to Spurs. Clarke has yet to break through at Spurs and doesn't look likely to yet cost a lot more. That kind of money doesn't get you very much these days.

From what I thought the fee is low but there is a very high sell on clause.

So Chelsea will make a tonne of money if we sell him.

Which if your Chelsea seems to me to make sense.

Selling a player to a team with a manager who has shown just how great he is at developing players.

Add to fact that Dallas, Rodrigo and klitch are all the other side of 30 mean you can easily see a first team path for him and you can, from the perspective of Chelsea, see the thinking behind the original price

If you had any sense Beilsa are ringing, you would see that it is a shrewd move for a very good price by Leeds !.......get behind your team you old blubberer .

You got it, Mattyp.

Klich ran out of steam - not surprisingly - last season.

Was it the first game against WBA last year when we tore them a new one and Gallagher was the only one really showing any fight?

Good bit of business but hope it doesn't turn into a Ben White situation where the Bielsa method improves the player to such a degree that he becomes utterly unaffordable when he returns to Chelsea. Bloom and Potter really shafted us last year.

He's not on loan though, he has been signed by us so we dont have to worry about that.

It's a win for me. Teaching other teams players like Eddie is a waste of effort imo. Happy he's ours for Marcelo to mould.

Depends what you mean. Ben White was a loan, and definitely not a waste of effort as he was a key player in us getting promoted.
