"Ever since Ronny Deila appeared from nowhere as manager in the summer of 2014, the Celts board have been all about doing just enough to get by" - Bill Leckie

The appointment of Rodgers aside, this statement is spot on.

they got one call right and that was rodgers, everything after that was a result of him, and then they managed to fvck it up by hitting with with shved and bayo.

he was the gold standard and they got lucky, which was obvious by their next decision to hire a lazy fvcking slob as his replacement.

Rodgers was one of those ones that comes along every so often where the circumstances just meet.

It's very difficult now for the OF to find the right Manager because they are two huge clubs with demands in line with elite clubs but don't play at an elite standard or have the finances to match. There's also an aspect of the Scottish game being stuck in the past a bit which makes it difficult for modern coach types to gel with the types of players they are working with.

Absolutey.

We got very lucky having Rodgers, a real manager with actual real tactics and a brain in his head, with an ability to get the best out of his players, that and a eye for a player.

Then Lawwell killed the Golden Goose by trying to save £3.27p on some transfers. And thus herald in a new era of immense shiiiiteness, tobacco chewing and seeing double in the dugout whilst playing candy crush on the ipad.

I take the point smid but when rodgers left he netted us 9 million, and showed us what spending on a good manager can do in terms of champions league revenue.

we were in great position to take that money and pay for a top manager to get us into champs league, to get us the ten.

I honestly cannot believe how easily they surrendered that through nothing but laziness and sheer incompetence.

Just the ones who could only see the short term financial gains/savings, while failing to spot that said decisions were costing us tens of millions more in lost CL revenues. #falseeconomy
