Trippier Alternative?

Look, I don't know about you guys but £30m for facking Kieran Trippier is ridiculous.

What Ole is looking for seems like a polar opposite of AWB. A good attacking minded RB with experience at the highest level and on the tail end of their career.

Might I suggest Daniel Wass?

Quick note: Wass is a decent enough player who can fill in for either fullbacks and across the midfield. Hard working and good set piece taker, maybe a bit suspect on the defensive side of the ball. I don't anticipate him starting every single game but he covers a lot of positions that we rack up injuries in.

Got 1 year left on his current deal and Valencia is looking like they're doing another fire sale this window. Think they're looking for just under €10m if I were to guess. At the very least, this could get Atletico to rethink their ridiculous valuation for Trippier.

Just a thought. Wasssup.

Yeah I've no idea who this Wass guy is but spending proper money on Trippier now is silly.

Also, is Ole actually at the transfer wheel? That's worrying but ok

Yeah Bruno, Varane and Sancho are worrying signings

Dalot and Williams are adequate alternatives with a DM or CF the priority.

I don’t think £30 million for Trippier is an offensive price. He’s a starting right back for the La Liga champions, knows the PL very well and improves our right side. I’d be annoyed if we didn’t get him for the sake of a few million.

Last year of his contract, now 30 and was bought for £20m by Atletico. Think is reasonable to offer less than £30m. Doesn’t Trippier also want to move back to the UK, so not like Atletico can extend his contract.

Fair enough, didn’t know his contract length status. I’d still rather we slightly overpay just to get the deal done and into the side rather than have another season with AWB who I’m convinced is a massive weak link.

He has just less than two years left on his contract after a one year extension was automatically triggered last season due to him making 20 appearances.

I still feel like this might happen though. I think his price will come down eventually, especially as his family has already moved back to England and it's obviously his desire to join them.

Hopefully we can get him for the lower side of £20-25 million, close to what Atleti paid for him.

Ah I see, yeah I was thinking £20-25m seems more reasonable.

Maybe we should offer them Dalot and try and bring the price down by £5m? He would be a pretty shrewd signing.

Ole should push for swapping pogba with trent alexander

I'll have some of what you're smoking if I may.

It's pure ganja from himanchal pradesh in India, helps sees possibilities the sober mind cannot see. anyway, the ganja tells me that ole should look at this cause it solves two issues: crappy RB and unhappy #6. unfortunately, it doesn't tell if this transaction can ever occur. Try the stuff, it will give you enlightenment. Useful in these trying times.

I would take Tripper for 30 million. People really underestimate how much it affects the attack when you have a championship level in attack right back in the team.

Basically like playing with 10 men when we have the ball.
