Was a large minority during sarris reign. That’s about it. I’m proud to say I’ve been a big backer of him

Was not a fan of him during the first half of the Sarri season, got to be a fan of his during the second half of that season (due to his improved performances) and have liked him personally ever since. He's a good foil for Kante alongside him. Some Chelsea fans still don't like to give him any credit (even now) but hopefully that will now change moving forward.

He started 2018-19 brilliantly. It was around the Spurs game (I think) where teams started to figure out cutting him off chopped the legs on Sarri's tactics. Introducing the extra dimension of RLC in the last two thirds of the season corrected that

But by that point of course he was "Sarri's son" so wasn't gunna get any credit

Nick, I think his passing can be good at times (although it was atrocious at the weekend) like that time for Tammy at Watford or for Mason against Porto last year, but I do agree he does lack pace (but does read the game well which compensates for that) and strength in tackles (he don't bottle out but he doesn't seem to have oomph to clean the other bloke out).

I do however like the fact that he has great personality and never hides or doesn't make himself available in even tight situations. Pleased for him that he is now getting some recognition.

That statement doesn't make any sense because he doesn't actually benefit individually from having good players around him with perhaps the exception of Kante. He is all about the first and 2nd phase of play when we have ball so it's the others that benefit.
