Wee bit of avoidance from work
I remember screaming “bagsy Joe Craig" as a kid when the jumpers for goalposts were going down. No sure there was a need for urgency as most pals were rangers or others !
First Celtic game attended was a league cup tie at tannadice where we won 3-2 watching the likes of Alfie Conn and Johnny Doyle. Just realised that Joe Craig was sold a few days later and I never actually saw him play ! He was only at Celtic a couple of years but was top scorer in his first. He also only got one scotland cap - 75th minute he came on as a sub against Sweden and scored without kicking the ball - goal was a header ! Never got another cap !
Remember he always raised one arm when he scored and was my first ‘hero’

Quite liked the big Austrian Hans krankl - again - like Joe Craig - there was no urgent need to ‘bagsy’

Bobby Lennox was my hero he scored 4 goals against St Johnstone in 1968 which was the first Celtic match I ever went to ,I had just got into playing football as well and to be honest I think my dad wanted me to support the saints ,bad move.

Being a fifer always had a wee soft spot for saints and Dundee Utd - lucky escape troll - although cup double last season must have been amazing for the fans !

My brother was always a saints fan and he’s had more downs than ups so I actually felt good for him this last year ,I did tell him that it’s all downhill from last season just to keep a bit grounded.

Cannot remember my first game
Remember getting autographs at the old Broomfield when I was a wean and the papers they sold with a poster in it(I assume they sold them at Celtic park with Celtic players)would have been 62 or so

The Times and The Citizen were the papers with posters of players. Sometimes they were in black and white so the drew green hoops on them to kid on they were colour lol 😂
