Outstanding result, real stuff of champions with that save by De Gea at the end. VAR did their best to stop us, by ignoring not just one but TWO clear penalties on Ronaldo, but nothing can stop us when we have so many goal scorers.
Huge shoutout to Ole today for winning us that match with his subs, I really feel like Lingard could have a huge say on the title race this season; there’s never been any doubt that he’s a top, top player but Ole has reignited his fire, he could be another crucial addition to the squad going forward.
The mentality of the team is getting better, don’t know about anyone else but I felt a bit like we were watching Fergie’s United at times; today I just had that sense that it was inevitable we’d score after so many attacks, wave after wave etc it reminded me of 2008.
Just on my last point about it feeling like Fergie’s United, I can foresee a huge Fergielike play by Ole with the media to really ramp up the pressure on referees. We are effectively seeing a conspiracy whereby teams like City, Chelsea and Liverpool get all the VAR decisions whilst we are punished over and over again by it.
I expect Ole to use his weight and lay the law down on referees this season and it could, like with City last year, influence where the title ends up.
Top (joint) of the league and getting better. Thick of the title race too whilst other, smaller clubs fall away early on.
Onwards and upwards Ole Ole Oleeee.

So having TAA, Firmino, Elliot, Thiago and VVD injured in your world must mean that the team obviously can cope with a high amount of injuries to key players given the results and the current table!
Glad to know that old chestnut of "injuries will cripple the season" was nothing more than a myth after all.
